PostSubject: mirror question   mirror question Icon_minitimeMon 01 Jun 2009, 9:11 am

I hope you guys can help. I was looking at someones pic the other day from Katemcy i believe and there was one photo of a Jeep with a mirror that just slid into where the upper door would hang. This is something i wanted to do instead of buying a mirror mount when running without the doors. I need to find out what kind of mirror it was . I was thinking of trying to maybe use a bicycle mirror, but this pic was exactly what i was wanting to do. Any help would be appreciated as i cant find the pic. THANKS ....

Can you find the picture again and post it on the forum. Otherwise it will be difficult for us to guess what you are looking for.

I think it was in Goldenboy's slideshow. I am at work so I can't access photobucket to verify.

Dutchboy, that is the problem. I have been looking at pics and havent found it yet. I know someone knows who this is. The pic i saw was directly showing the mirror with a nut and bolt on the bottom. I will keep searching though. Will follow any leads like Martij3 provided. THE SEARCH CONTINUES.....

The top picture is Phil, he owns trail duty and his website is trailduty.com
Contact him, I am sure he sells that particular mirror. If not, he'll point you in the right direction.
Pm Jerry (Littleredrubicon) he can tell you where he got his mirror from.

sorry so slow getting back i am out of town on work. i got those mirrors from ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220419442397&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AVRI. very easy to instal and did not vibrate at all. only thing i wish was different is that they are both convex and it takes some getting used to when looking out the driver side. other than that i am just looking for excuses to take my doors off so i can use them.

I dunno.... mine turned out to be a little flimsy.....

I bought them quite a while ago so I would have to go looking to find them if you're interested. Actually I'll have to look for myself now that I think about it, I need a new one.

yours look very similar to mine in this photo. i don't think that mine make much much of a difference between the years. its very simple design, take off door, place bolt end in hinge, tighten nut, adjust mirror, done. i just looked up the manufacturer website and they are less expensive through them, but then again they say they are only for 81 - 06 but i can't imagine the hinges are that different.
