South Padre Island

We are headed to South Padre Island August 1 - 7. We will be staying in the bus on the beach just north of beach access six and plan to explore the island. Seeing if anyone wants to join in on any or all of it. We made the trip all the way down PINS and plan to do it in reverse.

Me in my family will be there.. hopfuly we can get our condo for a few more days i think our check out day is Aug first.. this will be our first jeep/beach trip...is there parts you cant drive on?

For the most part you can drive on the beach in South Padre. I always go straight to access 6 which is about 8 miles north of the bridge. This is the only access for vehicles on the beach side and there is a 3 dollar per day fee when the access booth is open, otherwise its free. It's approximately 20 miles north to Mansfield from there. Never drove it but I'm told its fairly easy with 4x4. You can drive south from access 6 but I don't know how far, never done it. Hope you can stay an extra day or two, be nice to wheel with another CJ
