| i'm looking for some spare axle shafts for a 91 xj 30 and 35 dana so when i wheel i will have extra in case i break on the trail i can make it a quick fix | |

| Try these people http://www.oly4x4.com/. I got a single piece axle to replace the 2 piece front passenger side for a friends yj from them. they even had the block off kit. | |

| Right, there are certainly XJ's out there at Pick-n-Pull. Broken shafts are never a quick fix, but it's always better to have spares. If you're out at Pick-n-Pull, see if you can spot an XJ with a D44 or 8.25, both about equal in strength, and both are FAR stronger than the D35, which will be your weak link for sure. They shouldn't be terribly expensive (maybe $250) and should bolt right in. Double check the gear ratio if you have stock gears, but 3.55 was very common. The 8.25 looks a lot like the oval D35 but bigger (hard to tell unless they're side by side) and has a flat bottom to the diff housing that sticks out from behind the diff cover a little. The D44 looks more like an apple turned on its side, not straight oval. Here's an illustration and a pic of the 8.25: Note the flat part sticking out from behind the diff cover at the bottom: | |

| thanks for the input eric i will have to check out my rear axles to make sure of the style my jeep is at my friend charlie's house finishing up the front bumper and stinger and then primer and paint i will see it tuesday and i will double check then mine looks like a 8.25 front the diff pics you sent | |
