Here is a picture of my bumper thanks to both my daughter and a tree. We have a major problem with the trees on the trails here in Virginia. They will, and often without notice, jump out and kiss your bumper.

And here is a picture after I modified it. It turned out much better than I expected. So well that other JKs in my local club are going to cut theirs too. It definitely gives me better clearance for obstacles.

the pop-rivet deal...I did the same thing! Yours looks great - nice job! Now I'm chopping into the top to cut in a new winch...I just need to get a new cutoff disc and I'm set - can you say "Home Depot"!

I had the same thing happen, however I was much less neat. I pretty much just cut the ends off and called it a day. I figure I will just ruin it any way. Bumper = The thing you bump things with. jocolor
