should every kid get a trophy?

When my kids were young, i taught them how to catch, throw, etc. I was that dad spending hours in the back yard teaching. All my kids could shoot baskets on a 10 ft rim very early. I coach a BVYA league for about 12 years now. Because we had parents complain that their son or daughter was not able to make a basket on a regulation 10 ft rim, they lowered the rim to 8 ft. Talk about screwing my kids up. They were soo used to the 10 ft rim, it was hard for them to adjust to the lowered height. It was sad to know that rather than get out their with your kid and practice, just sit on your lazy ass and complain.My kids were better than average when it came to sports due to practicing, but the parents that complained the most where the ones who did the least with their kids. TO ALL OF YOU, YOU SUCK... :rasberry:
