interesting thing happened on the way home

at the entrance to my subdivision there was an accident. the car in the intersection had rear ended a car, but there was no car there. i turned the corner to drive in and i saw the car with a younger man grabbing a backpack out of the car. i passed him as i wasn't sure if he was driving, but everyone appeared to be OK. i continued on and notice in my rear view that the kid was leaving the car and going AWAY from the accident.

i turn around and see him running toward a large drainage ditch and then into the ditch to run. so guess what i do? yep. i drive after him it was awesome. the look of "awe shit" on his face when he saw the jeep was priceless. i was on the phone with the police describing the dude, but he got away through a small concrete drainage patch that was way to small for the jeep. didn't know what was in the back pack so i really didn't want to get out and chase him without some protection.

it was a fun way to conquer hump day.

Shweet!!! Thanks for having the nads to do SOMETHING even if you were not able to catch him. Dirtbag either had warrants, stole the car, had a bag full of smack or all the above. Would have been cool if you ran him down and left him there for the cops to find him.... could have blamed it on the dude in the "Who's Jeep Is This" thread.

the kid was definitely scared of something more than just getting caught with the car. after all - he was the one that got rear ended. asked the officer if the car was stolen and he said no. the car wasn't registered in the area, but that doesn't mean he doesn't live nearby and just didn't update the registration.
