| I got there at 9am on Saturday and I was #273. We didn't hit any traffic jams either. | |

| Great pics M!!!
Looks like you had a good group. We ended up with 7 in our group which was just about right. Not too much waiting and plenty to do.
I will find out how many rigs showed up, I think that there were more on Memorial Day. I bet a bunch of folks either couldn't get off of work or figured that it would be too crowded. We didn't hit a road block all day. There were a few trails that had rigs on them so we just went and found something else.
We wanted to do the waterfall again but figured it would be jammed with rigs and I found out that it was jammed all day long. One guy in a zuki said that there was a group of about 9 hummers (one H1) that were tow strapping each other over the water falls one by one and that it was a PITA. He said that there were about 15 Jeeps waiting to go after the Hummer group.
We might try and run that first thing in the morning before it gets jammed.

Today has been unbelieveable only about 75 rigs so far so we beat the eventual rush that is sure to come. It is like we have the whole place to ourselves. It is freakin hot though. The temp gauge is at 104 and the granite is scorching. Sure am glad I left he doors on. Will leave them on tomorrow and Sunday as well.
Just went back to camp to meet up with PhilD to go on a guided tour. If his buddy gets mouthy I can simply turn up the radio.....
There is an open area just inside the gate if you take the very first trail to the left just follow it until it turns to granite. The trail is before the check in point so it may be a pain but the camp is going to be jammed. Check in then start hollaring on chann 15. Ron, Are you saying that you want us to meet you at the beginning of the Aggy Highway trail? It would be easier to drive to that spot and walk to the check-in place. I am going to man up and take the doors off. I'll just tell the misses to quit whining. I just don't want to damage them. Freddo will be staying at the cabins. He drives a silver 4 door Sahara. It is a pretty good walk from the spot that I am talking about. Change of plans on the meetup spot. Phil D and two of his folks are tent camping just before you get to the pasture. Easy to find - from the check in point just keep to the right and go through the main camping area and follow the trail to the right. You cannot miss Phil's Jeep (will get a pic up in a few) Red JKU on 40s.... I am going to be there early - the gate is going to be an absolute mess at around 800am, I am shooting for 7am at the latest. There might be a considerable wait at the check in point. If you get stuck at the gate just follow the same trail that I described above to the rocks and give us a shout on 15 or call my cell and I will let you know where we are. This place is set up that you can go just about anywhere and have a blast so if you are running late don't worry.... we will catch up. One note.... FWIW - they are not putting wrist bands on passengers, just drivers.... There were about 200 rigs there when I left at 730....

| So, currently committed to going are: Dutchboy JonsJeep JKJoe Freddo Martij Mr RonGilbert Swamprat Is there anybody else I am missing? I suggest we have our CB's on Channel 15. Freddo has a cabin, and we can all meet there so we can hit the trails together. For San antonio guy's, you want to meet at the HEB on hwy 46 and I10 in Boerne @ 6AM? So we caravan up to Katemcy. I'd suggest you print out the waiver at on the katemcyrocks.com website, fill it out and bring it with you. That will speed things up. Your passengers will need to have one filled out as well. | |

No way I am taking them all the way to Katemcy for that long.
I am working on a sitter. :mischieviousbi I am sure you can find a sitter. they are pretty easy to find. I always see people asking for jobs at busy intersections. Some even look trustworthy. I can get you a number for a guy that sits at the end of the road in a van that says free candy...the dude looks legit

I am going for the day Saturday, and I don't want to take my doors on the trail. I don't want to drive up without them. I don't mind, but I hate driving 2 plus hours with my daughter in the jeep without them on. Plus it is suppose to be 100 degrees on saturday.
I was planning on leaving my doors on the camp ground somewhere, I'll am also leaving my spare tire at the base camp.

| Swamprat, my cell is 210-884-0058. I know that sprint has no service there, so you'll have to call me early Saturday morning. Or before that time. My Jeep is a Black 4 door rubicon, but I have taken the rubicon stickers of the hood and made my own rubi ghost stickers. (black on black) Easiest way to recognize my Jeep is that I have my CO2 bottle on my passenger side roll bar. We'll be driving in around 8am. | |
