Katemcy - the final run... :(

Had a blast!!

Started the morning finding Randy and Shain's rigs winched up into the big tree by the front gate.



Not sure who lost a steering wheel.... gonna be tough to get down..

The owner pasted away and his son who now owns the property wants to build a vacation home on the property.

the people that run it said they WILL be back.. if not there then somewhere in the Katemcy area due to the granite... but they're looking into a couple other areas

Yes Randy and Shane are actively looking for another property.

the dude would even let them keep cows on part of the land so he could get an ag exemption...

it IS his to do as he pleases - which apparently is keep it all to himself. i bet he was the kid who had all the toys, but wouldn't let anyone else play with them...

There is a bigger ranch just next door, like 1800 acres.... not sure how much is granite though. Looked like quite a bit.

Katemcy has 800 acres of which 600 is granite.

I did learn that the granite is too "soft" to cultivate into counter tops etc.. it crumbles apart when sliced thin. Otherwise they would have farmed out the granite a long time ago....

The market is too big for the ranch (whatever ranch) and the towns of Mason and Brady - the hotels were sold out and the restaurants were jammed with hungry wheelers... even the Wal-Mart had a bunch - just like last time. Someone has got to see some value in that.

I told my wife what you said about it being boring and her first word was bullsh!t. Weddings are no fun but at least I got to spend the day playing with the kids and my wife got some time away from the kids.

And there ain't nothin' wrong with that. We actually left the kids with the grandparents and really enjoyed some quality "us" time for the first time in about 6 years. It was nice but I actually missed the little terrorists.

4am came too freakin' early this morning.......

Yes, we did make it to the waterfall. I'll post some pictures tonight.
Also took a video of how hummers attempted to take the waterfall. Never seen such a sad bunch of wheelers try to go offroading. They tow-strapped all the hummers front and back, like they were holding hands. Took them a long time to get through and holding up the line for all the others.

We didn't take as many pictures of this trip, as we were just there for Memorial day weekend.

Thank is funny, can't wait to see the video!

Freddo told us about that.... the vid should be good.

Did you hear about the morons who snuck over to the sand pit for some midnight fun? They blew a bead when they tried to turn and flipped the S10 (I think... that or a ranger) both were life flighted out in the middle of the night. Good news is that I heard that they are going to be ok...

If you guys will email me some of these pics I can put them on the web-site, sometimes when I copy and paste they do not turn out too well.

I'd trade my rig for it.!
