| OK this is for anyone who doesnt already know what happened to me today.
I went with the SA + Waco chapters to Hidden Falls ranch today. I had a great day of wheeling, did one 5 i wouldn't think i could do and did tons of 4s and 3s no problem. Jeep was working perfectly and the only things going wrong was the heat out side and the rash on my skid (never really was a problem). Well as we were leaveing the ranch to go to the springs to watch the fireworks, (Sasha you need to chim in here for better details, I'm forgeting them as the day gets old) I ended up rolling my jeep twice. I very luckly walked way with only a broken nose, a scapled head and a fucking killer headach. I will and details to this once i get some sleep and can gets some pictures for y'all. Or more like when who ever took them for me for the insurance company.
I would like to thank everyone who came back to my aid, exspecialy the ones who saw the wreak and was right there to assist me. I would also like to especialy thanks Sasha's wife (i'm sorry the name escapes me). If it wasn't for her keeping me calm right away i could have slipped into shock.
It's a great feeling knowing that you have friend who u might only see once in a while, but will still treat u like family everytime. Again thank y'all

I jumped out of my jeep and turned off cody's jeep to eliminate the spark for fuel to go BOOM! on my way down to the jeep, i was fearing there was a passenger because there wasn't a passenger compartment left. thank god no one was riding shotgun. cody, i have your hat. which has a hole in the mesh that appears to be in the same spot the the gash in you head is. i also have a pack of your smokes. the ambulance guys wouldn't take them to give to you. i work tomorrow, but we can meet up soon to get you your stuff. heal quickly!

JK_JOE - Thanks man, dont know if there's anything to do. I might be having a parts sale soon depending on what insurance will cover
jdldx3 - Thanks man, hey we had fun out there though today
CRUX - Yea much rather have seen u and Judy in a better setting. BTW i did fine some mud down there, it where my ice chest spilled, lol.
OH and the dick sheriff who showed up gave me 2 tickets, unsafe speed and a MIP for beer i had in my cooler and he happen to not see all the gatorade or water that was actually empty in the cooler. I don't care i'm going to fight it

| Cody, I am glad to see that you are alright . I was right behind you and saw the whole thing happen. Did you air your tires up? I know you had your sway bars disco'd. Here is what happened: When you went to get your cigarette, you went on the embankment on the right site of the road. You over corrected and was sideways on the road going into your first roll, then off the side into your second roll and stopped upside down.It would be impossible for anybody to control a vehicle without the sway bars connected, if your tires were low, that just adds to the equation. I went on the CB to alert everyone, hoping to let the others know.(I will get back on this subject in a little bit) I stopped on the opposite side of the road and your Jeep was smoking very badly, and it looked like it was about to catch on fire.I did not think that you, or anyone would survive that crash, I expected to see you unconscious and in terrible shape.Anyway, I rush to get the fire extinguisher, and crossed the road. All this took just seconds. At that time you miraculously walked up and I just helped you climb out of the ditch. We crossed the road to safety and Rocio made sure you stayed calm and not go into shock. Rocio and I could tell you didn't realize the severity of your accident, and how lucky you were. We saw you had a broken nose and a good bump on your head. We were concerned about the bump. ***Warning, getting on my high horse*** All in all, glad you walked away with this with as little physical damage as you did.Next time, please listen to some of the more "mature" wheelers. FOr everyones safety. That whole accident could of been a lot worse if there was traffic coming from the other direction, but you know my drift. Your actions will and can affect others for the rest of their lives, be responsible in the future, please!!! Now, to get back on the CB issue. I noticed that half of the Jeeps CB’s did not work correctly. On our next install party we need to get this issue fixed. Mine might not work properly either. We also need to test the distance these CB’s are able to carry. Supposedly several miles, but sometimes the jeep in front of you cannot hear you or they are not able to respond. I am sure these are very minor things to fix, but possibly time consuming. And Yes I know, CB’s work in line of sight. But they are communication devises, and are useless if they do not work. If everybody in our club is willing to chip in a couple of $$$, we could buy one for the club. OK, stepping of my horse now, my arse is getting soar. FYI, we had a great time, great offroad park and we had a good guide that kept trying to get me to trash my 3 month old brand new Jeep, kept asking if I'd like to do the #5's, which I did a couple I think. Not sure, I just follow to next idiot in front of me. I’ll post pictures as soon as I find my USB cord. I think my daughter accidentally left her Ipod cable and took my USB cable. | |

| Hey Sascha,
You better stay off your horse until your back is better.
You make some very good points. We need to watch out for each other. It is dangerous enough off road, we should do all we can to keep it safe on the way there and back.
I was talking to Cody after we were done and never even asked if he wanted help with his discos. I don't think we need a lot of rules, just look out for each other as friends and fellow jeepers.

Tire pressure and no sway bar can cause a major problem, thats why we all have air tanks in our Jeeps now, so we are sure to air back up before we leave

Discos are a PITA and I drive like grandpa when not offroad. A good alternitive is the Currie Anti-Rock sway bar. It is not as stiff as the stock bar on the street but better than full disco. May folks that have them prefer them off-road to the full disco. Especially helpful in those off-camber downhill situations (like that last hole we went into).

Yes there are some experienced drivers that would have no problems. I've done it myself but I have about 34 years of driving experience. There are some drivers here with considerably less. And all it takes is for someone to pull out in front of you or make a lane change and you have to make a quick correction. That is like saying you really don't need to wear your seat belt. I haven't had an accident in about 30 years so why should I use them? I imagine for Cody to have survived his accident he had his on and he can tell you why you should wear one. At this point he can tell you why you should have a sway bar. Seat belts and sway bars... they're both safety equipment. Use them.

| we do in fact run pretty much all the time with no sway bars, but both myself and jennie are very smooth drivers, and drive many, many more miles than most folks, as in 60k each per year, we are both very much in "tune" with what our vehicles are doing.
i feel that codys accident probably would have happened regardless of whether he had his sway bay connected or not, come on
i dont want anyone to think that i am in anyway slamming Cody but hes not the first 20 year old guy to roll a jeep down the highway in exactly the same manner. short wheelbase, high center of gravity vehicles roll easy......inexperienced drivers in those vehicles roll them often
short wheelbase jeep + fast steering corrections+ high speeds = bad stuff happening
that being said, it is not inheriently dangerous to drive without swaybars, but you have to be more alert, and aware of how you are driving, and how the vehicle will react, jennie and i have owned and driven everything from 9 second mustang street cars to 8000lb diesels that ran 11's in the quarter. and routinely put 60 to 100 thousand miles a year on them.
now pay attention
i do NOT, i repeat do NOT, advise anyone to remove their swaybar or to ever drive on the street without one.
i also would never lead anyone to believe that what im doing is totally safe although i feel perfectly safe
in the event of a blowout or other high speed manuver the jeep would probably go out of control
my jeeps are set-up much diferently than most, running a much stiffer spring than most and pretty aggresive shock valving, and it works for me, on my rig, for the way i drive (slow), on the roads i drive on........
please do as i say and not as i do.....buy anti-rocks if you are too lazy to reconect at the end of the day
and cody, hope your feeling better and let me know if RockRash4x4 can be of any help with your new ride

| OK first off WOAH on the whole disco thing. I have driven from alto to san antonio discoed and around town for about 3 months so this trip i didnt think if would kill me (HA) to not connect them. In this crash what happened with in realtions to the discos is problely having me go over a secong time instead off only one since the body come keep going.
Oh and Geo I know your not slamming me on this, what happened happened and its done. I fucked up while driving and i got to walk away from a double rollover thats the end of it.
Also Sasha i agree we do need to spend a day fixing all the cb radios. I also now feel we need to make them manditory for everyone to have if they plan to wheel.
Also Geo i'll be talkin to you and jennie more bout what will happen with the next jeep
