Ahhhhhh. Cross your fingers for me. I need all the luck I can get. I want to put my barely used hardtop from my 2008 on my wife's 2009. Some say nothing has changed, other people tell me it has a different part number so it may not fit. I guess I can only try and find out. I told her before we bought her jeep to get the softtop since she could have mine. I should have checked. Doh. dog house here I come. :kickedout:

Easy fix. Give her your 2008, and you take the 2009. Now you won't have to swap lifts and other crap. lol

Believe me I thought about it. I actually told her that and didn't like the look I got in return. Besides that would mean she would want to repaint my yellow machine to a pink Barbie jeep. She is already looking for pink stuff to put on/in her white jeep.

Going home to try and put the hardtop on. Dealership parts department told me it would fit. The new lift should be in tomorrow. The new wheels/tires should be in on Thursday. Body lift already came in. Friend's brother has a factory subwoofer and amp I am going to buy, but that is down the road. The wife's '09 has the subwoofer and it sounds waaaaaaay better with it than mine without.

Time to introduce her to Shannon and Jennie- they already know of everything possible to put in/on a JK in pink.

good news. I got the 2008 hardtop on the 2009. I blame Quadratec for telling me they had different part numbers.

So I went from possibly :kickedout: to :youtheman: .

more bad news... I just got word the wheels I wanted are not available. There are only 2 left in the US. 🦇 So I am wheel shopping again. I want a solid black or mostly black wheel. No soft 8s or Pro Comp 7089s.

One thing to double-check is the size of tire that you want to run and what backspacing may be required.

None of those are too awesome to pass up, so to speak, according to my own personal tastes. If I were to choose from those, I would probably go with the MT's first and the Rugged Ridge second and toss the rest out the window.

Remember when selecting wheels that if you're going to wheel it, chances are they're going to get chewed up at some point. That's part of the reason why people like the black soft 8's or similar (like the MT Classic II's), because they're recessed and not pushing out to the edge of the tire like those Rugged Ridge wheels you linked to, and because if they're plain painted black, they're easy to touch up Smile

The Sidebiters seem like probably the best design of those options, as far as actual wheeling is concerned. What size are you getting? If you can help it, narrower and smaller diameter is going to be best for wheeling (i.e. 15x8), but I guess the look comes into it, too.

The MT Sidebiters and the Rugged Ridge are my two top favorites. They are the two most expensive ones also. All tires I listed come 17x8 or 17x9 with 4.5 BS, which is the BS I need. I like the all black for the same reason you mentioned. Easy to touch up.

How big are you going? 35? 37?

I'd prefer 17x8 myself, but 17x9 is still better than 17x10 or whatever Smile

I'd go with the MT Sidebiters, if I were choosing from that list. If you look at the design compared to the Rugged Ridge ones, the actual spokes and such are recessed much father in. The Rugged Ridge has more surface area pushed out to the edge, where they will be acquainted with the local rocks.

I'm not a huge fan of either one's looks, as both seem very mall-crawler for some reason, but I like Mickey Thompson stuff in general, and the Sidebiters seem like they might be easier to clean. Who knows. Go with whatever you like, I guess Smile

I guess I asked because I can't find anything that I really like. This is the latest wheel that I like.

http://wheelpros.com/browse.asp?page=details.asp&brand=atx&wheelid=AX9856&name=ATX%20CHAMBER%20TEFLON&style=AX9856&dspstyle=AX9856&desc=one%20piece%20aluminum%20painted&section=AX

I probably like it over all the others. I like mud and trails over rocks so I am not as much worried about scratches as I am keeping them clean (clean-ish). But these like many other wheels are on backorder until January.

I may just give up and get some spacers to use in the mean time and order some wheels that I like instead of settling. I just hate buying something temporary.

Forget spacers... You'll spend at least $200 on spacers. For almost the same amount you can get some Crager steelies with proper back spacing. And then when you can get the wheels you want, you can sell the Cragers

Steve is right.

Those wheels you just linked, though, I like better than any you've linked before. Then again, it's closer to the typical black soft 8's Smile

$200 for 4 spacers.

$400 for 4 cragers. Ignoring the spare. Maybe they can be a little cheaper but I always see them for $85+$10 hub cap each. That seems way more expensive for a temp fix. I aggree its a better product but it would keep me running them longer too because of it.

Its a good idea tho. Let me see if I can find a better price. Oh and I could always try and sell the spacers too.

Discount Tires sells Crager's rebranded as Unique (well, actually Unique owns Crager). $70 per wheel. Since its only temporary, you don't even need to get a spare. Plus if you're buying new rubber (???) talk to a Discount manager and get him to make you a package deal.

I thought that sounded high until I realized that you're looking at 17x9 wheels instead of 15x8, which are about $40 each. Why 17?

I was looking at 17x8s instead of 17x9s to find the cheapest option. 17s because I like the way 17s fit with a 35. I feel like 35s is too much rubber with a 15" wheel. That is my opinion. No offence.

I can't find them for $70 at Discount but they have them for $80 which is cheaper than I posted before.

What may save this idea is the $100 off coupon for a set of 4 wheels.
80x4=320 320-$100 = $220 That is a good deal.
