| So I got home from a 2 day project in Oklahoma last night dropped off my bags and was out the door again, but as soon as we got in the Jeep my fiancee noticed my window was cut and then it hit me shit I got robbed!!! :banghead: The scumbags sliced the soft top windows, destroyed my console to get to the DVD/ Navigation unit, I mean they ripped into the plastic. They stole my cd's, and two pair of sunglasses, expensive sunglasses. Nothing lower in life than a thief, cops dusted but no prints so I'm checkin ebay and Craigslist but we know thats not gonna turn up anything. So this morning its off to the insurance adjuster and then to repair shops for quotes. I was lookin forward to buying my lift kit this weekend not new windows. Anyone have any idea how long insurance checks take to get cut so i can replace all the goodies??? | |

| Man I am sorry to hear this. The chances of getting anything back are very slim to none... Good news is that your insurance (homeowners for theft at the house) should take care of you. You can get a nice aftermarket model. That really stinks. Know that whoever it is will get caught eventually.... hopefully they will break into Joe Horn's neighbors car next time.
Check the pawn shops within 20 miles of your house. They usually unload it pretty quick, unless they have a buyer they pawn them under someone else's name.

| I was looking online at the official Jeep parts site and it looks like I will have to have all 3 windows replaced apparently you cant purchase just one. But this makes me wonder if it wouldnt be better to have the entire soft top replaced as the new windows canvas and tint will be different from my original top?
I am definately purchasing the Bestop dash lock box, I almost picked one uo the other day when i was buying my lights but all they had were the grey ones. Talk about cruel irony hahaha!!

| I just went thru insurance for my wife's wrecked car, and my old truck was stolen and found trashed before too. Insurance is normally pretty fast. If they are cutting you a check directly it can be as soon as the insurance adjuster looks at it. If there is repair that a shop needs to do then it would be after they are complete. If you have to replace the whole soft top the insurance should cover the whole thing. Use it and keep the undamaged stuff as spares. I think stolen items not mounted to the car (CDs and stuff) go thru your homeowners insurance. Aftermarket mounted items like your indash Nav is thru your car insurance. I hope you can get around that. It might end up being useless to file a claim for $100 worth of CDs after you have to pay a deductible. Sorry to hear that bro. I would end up in jail if I caught someone in my jeep. | |
