| Nice. I've never run one of those. I think it'd be interesting, as I don't know how much the stock rear swaybar on a TJ limits things (if at all, really). | |

| You have more of a torsion bar on the rear than an actual anti-sway bar, which really doesn't limit the travel. Seems my buddy aired down before he ramped lol. | |

| Yes he did air down while the rest of us were too lazy to do it.
But also after much thought and playing with numbers we have discovered that their formula was wrong and the scores were off a bit.

| My front diiff hits the trac bar, or worse, my drag link. Not what I want for a bump stop. Going to have to look under there and see where the silver paint is being transferred | |

this is the Formula they used: http://www.jedi.com/flatlanders-old/ramp.html Thanks N2, was it a 30deg ramp? Apparently no one knows. Geo thought it was a 25 degree. But over on the TX4WD forum they said someone once figured the actual angle out, and it was an odd angle like 28-degree or something. But no one remembers what it was.

| I say we all pitch in and and have G build us a new ramp at 20 deg!
This way we can ramp it anytime we make changes to our rigs!

| What does it take to make an RTI ramp? I'm curious. I think it might be a fun project. | |

| After reading the link it sounds like 30deg may be the way to go.... Of course, the angle of the ramp will make a huge difference in the score you get. The higher the angle, the lower your score will be. The original RTI ramps were only 20 degrees, but too many people were getting 1000+ scores, so folks decided to make it more challenging by raising the angle to 23 degrees or 25 degrees. Again, many of the more flexible rigs were still getting 1000+ scores. 30 degrees is the steepest ramp I've ever seen, and I'm pretty sure it'll stay that way for a while.
But I really have no clue..... it will be a long time before my rig intimidates a 20 deg ramp. one day though..... one day....

| If we can get an agreement on the dimentions, I have the stuff to build one. In my mind I am thinking to put an axle and a tounge on it to make it portable. I am not trying to take anything away from George... the pictures of his stuff are awesome. I am looking forward to meeting him and checking out his wares in person. If the SA folks want to get together for a "ramp party", we can burn some rod and the club will have a new ramp! George, looking at your work...we think alike....kinda scares me. R | |

| After some back & forth on TX4WD, the guy that built the ramp jumped in and confirmed that the ramp is 25 degree
So with that knowledge I was able to convert the figures over to the a 20-degree ramp score.
..............distance up ramp...... height of tire.......... 20 degree ramp score me ...........76.5"........................ 32.3....................... 815.120988 Shannon ...66.25"..................... 28.3 ...................... 857.434212 Geo ..........83".......................... 35.1 ...................... 884.379012 Jody .........77.5" ........................ 32.75 .................... 1003.036248 Joe ...........78" .......................... 32.95 .................... 1009.507944 Church .....60.5" ....................... 25.55 .................... 644.638272

So why is Shannon's tire hgt larger than Church's? Same with say Jody's tire vs your tire (37 vs 35)...? Or is hgt of tire...height it made it up the ramp?? not actual tire hgt...

scroll to the last jeep Nice! Joe & Jody kicked Edwin's fancy coilovers ass! Man... Looking at their wheel lift heights on those 4dr's- WTF?!?! Hell I got 32" with just a 2.5" lift and 35's. They have 4" lifts with 37's and aren't getting 32" height. The only two 4dr's that got more than 32" are the two with coilovers... They must be doing something wrong out there in California
