- No need for the dramatics. Anyone who knows me knows that I am no tree
hugger. Our forum policies exist because of my selfish desires to keep
the lands our great country has to offer open for EVERYONE to enjoy and
to be able to visit them looking as pristine and devoid of human
contact as possible. That is after all why many of us go out to these
places in the first place - to get away from it all and from what we
are forced to see everyday. At least, that's what got my wife and I
into Jeeps. If it's absolutely necessary for you to climb up trees in
order to have fun with your Jeep, what can I say, obviously I have no
authority or ability to stop you from doing what you will do especially
if it happened on private land. However, I have no intension's of
allowing this kind of "fun" to be glorified in the form of photographs
or otherwise on my privately owned forum. In my opinion, by doing so,
this would be an endorsement of this kind of behavior and I have no
intension's of doing that. Please understand that my policies are not
open for discussion and do not exist as a criticism of you or your
friends per se but rather, my attempts to do what I can with what I own
- this forum. Please contact me by PM if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Administrator
WOW. Now, I cant help but come to the conclusion that you are a man/woman that is desparate for attention. I say man/woman because you claim to be a man, but . . . yeah.
Lets explore a little deeper:
Take a look at the picture again. Take a good look and really dig down and ask yourself, "Is this REALLY something that bothers me?" Really! Do it! You might find that its not really the situation with the tree that bothers you, but rather the fact that people are having fun without you. You wouldn't happen to be the same person that threw a fit about a bunch of OTHER PEOPLE BESIDES YOURSELF going out and having fun at Devils Den, are you? I wouldn't be surprised.
Nevertheless, I think it is VERY safe to say that everyone here loves the trails. We all love the environment and enjoy being outdoors. If you are going to make such a big deal out of someone having fun (yes, having FUN, because trees are LOWER than humans, they have no defensive mechanism against us) with a tree that is probably a total of 6 inches in circumference, then I cant even imagine how you react to someone trimming their hedges/trees, mowing their lawn, or pulling up their weeds. Pulling weeds, interesting because in that case you are KILLING the plant. In this picture it just seems to me that the tree is simply bending (OH MY GOD CALL GREENPEACE A TREE IS BENDING), which would mean that the tree is probably pretty healthy and will continue to live even after being bent! Good god, I love the environment. I mean, you can bend a frickin tree and still have it live years and years!
-You can't have an offroading park look pristine from human contact. Period.
-People will still enjoy the park EVEN THOUGH THERE IS A BENT TREE. Trust me.
-The environment will not be thrown off ballance in the slightest by a bent tree.
-Believe it or not, people will still be able to get away from their every day lives and enjoy the great outdoors EVEN THOUGH that one specific tree is bent! Isnt it amazing?!
So what does this all mean? What am I trying to get at? Its really simple. You see, rather than going off and just saying "gah dont you have anything better to bitch about?!?!" I actually gave some insight. I want you and everyone else to understand the reality that you are totally insane. Your day has probably been pretty slow, as with many other days in your life, and you just decided you wanted to get a little bit of attention. The sad thing is, you dont even know it. Your inner self has told your outer self to keep up an image of a totally insane eco-nazi so many times that your innser self is starting to actually believe that you care about things such as the bent tree in question.
I will conclude with a question that will leave you without an answer to support your arguement. "How does the action depicted in that picture hurt the environment more than you not recycling?" (dont you dare tell me you recycle everything)
Thanks, I am done! gotta study for an exam.
PS: Last night I took a small hatchet, ran through the woods to find a nice cedar tree, and fucking cut the bitch down. I felt good because I was exploring my primal human nature, and I actually used the tree as a resource.
