| diggin this thread up again... The first time I install the SC on my jeep I noticed my speedo wasn't working at all. I don't think the odometer was working either. I also got the transmission outline icon on the dash. I returned it to stock but the problem is still there. I updated the SC again (that is when I found the TPMS stuff I wrote about). I then installed the SC tuner on my wife's jeep. It installed perfectly. Speedo is correct-ish. I may have to adjust the tire size from 35" to 34.5" or something. Definately has more power with the 87 oct setting. Now... I called Superchips to ask about my problem. They said the SC tuner "amplified an existing vehicle problem". He recommended I go to the dealership to get it flashed, and then to try the SC again. He mentioned I should probably not say I got this problem after I used a tuner. So I will try and get to Alvin tomorrow and hope they don't turn me away. Also, the $100 is not to add another jeep but to return the tuner to stock. He said they are working on a way to have more than one vehicle per tuner. | |

| OK so last week I had my jeep at the dealership because the SC freaked out my jeep's computer which killed the speedo/odo and set off the check engine light on. It was at the dealership for 4 days. They changed the speedometer senser, did something for the ABS module, and reflashed the computer and they even washed it. I took the SC off my wife's jeep and put it on mine and it all worked perfect this time. I will see if my wife notices the loss in power on hers tomorrow. I definately noticed more power increase on both jeeps. I hated driving mine, after I drove hers when she had it installed. I may end up having to get a second one. I haven't turned off the TPMS yet. I will try that tomorrow. | |

| http://jkowners.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16484 Here is a post that I added to a thread about SC problems. It seems after I returned my wife's jeep back to stock she got the problems that I had. Speedo/Odo not working and the check engine light on. I hope SC has something when I call them tomorrow. I have to believe it is a tuner problem if the same thing happened twice on different jeeps. | |

| I just tried the 91 setting and I like it better than the 87. I filled up today with 89 octane and came home and put the 91 tune in. It was about 65 degrees out side. First time I have ever heard my jeep chirp the tires between 1st and 2nd (and it was a good loud chirp)! Oh and the mileage setting sucks!!! Got worse mileage with it than I did 87. Gave it an honest month try and it sucks, and the power of it sucks. JMHO
Hope you get yours figured out Bizzoro | |
