| I agree with ya.. I just consider a second vehicle in the state park a good idea for someone that ain't been.. The national park at least has rangers that patrol daily.. That's all I'm sayin.. For example when I went, I went alone with my dogs.. I got way the hell out there and my jeep lost power.. If I wouldn't have been able to fix it i woulda been buzzard food... Also a pistol is a good tool to have out there for various reasons.. Critters and wets roam around out there...
Lol.. I'm gettin all pumped up for a big bend run now..

Which I'm in favor of gettin a group together for a week this fall to hit the state park.. I have to disagree. I did the state park alone with my son. use your head and carry whatever parts you think you may need. it's really not that bad, just need to be prepared and self sufficient which we all should be when heading out into the backcountry regardless of location and availability of cell phone coverage

| if you want 4x4 trails go to the big Bend State Ranch Park. lots of unmaintained 4x4 trails there vs the national park. | |

| I'm making my first trip to Big Bend on May 14th, anybody have any suggestions on what backcounty trails are a "must see/do". I'm planning on camping off the 4x4 backcounty roads and I understand Black Gap Road requires 4 wheel drive.
Thanks | |
