Floresville Bar BQ cook off and Tractor Pull

June 4,5th at the Wilson Cty. show barn (on hwy 97 n. of town)

Last year the Potlickinpirates took 1rst place brisket. I spoke with the fella in charge and asked him if it was Ok to rope off an area for Jeep Nation to display their rigs. He said that would be fine, and wanted to know how many would come. So post up and let me know. This event has lots going on for all ages, and you folks know there will be groceries and adult beverages available at my rig. We will proudly be flyin' The JN jolly roger flag.

I will be there most of friday and I won't be in any shape to leave before Sunday.

Very cool. I may be able to make that one. It depends mostly on whether I'm having to take care of a giant bullshit hunting lease hassle (i.e. moving blinds, stands, and other stuff off the property).

Just got off the phone with the fella that runs this cook off. He will wave the $5.00 entry fee for Jeep Nation folks as long as they make the ice chest usage discreet. He will also sell that wonderful amber liquid at a discount in bulk i.e. $18.00 for a case. In a nutshell if we support his fund raising activity he will let us in for free. That is a decent deal as far as I am concerned. He also knows we will be packin' our own stash, and he is cool with that as long as its not real obvious.

I told him 9:00am Sat. and he said that would be great. If you can't make it at that time come anyway and we will figure it out as far as parking. There will be a carnival, pullin', cooking, craft booths, music, and a dance as far as I know.

We will have a good time and if I can pull it off we might win something!

Randy, I can't seem to find a schedule online without registering with the Wilson County newspaper. Do you have any other details besides being there at 9 AM? I would be bringing the family and need to plan everything since we are schedule freaks for parents. What time is the tractor pull? Does the carnival open at 9 AM? Sorry for the questions! I have to go on what happenened last year. The tractor pulls go Fri. and all day Sat. in to the evening. Some horse's arse decided to warm his junk up at 5:30 in the damn morning. The problem was that I stopped drinking only a couple hours prior.

The carnival should be going the whole time (carnival workers are not picky about taking money).

There will be craft booths also.

These deals are kind of a free-for-all, i.e. lots of stuff going on the whole time. Similar to the Poteet Strawberry Fest (just on a smaller scale).

The location is N. of Floresville approx. 2 miles out of town on HWY 97 on the left. If there is any doubt, the helpful folks in Floresville will know where the showbarn is. I will meet with "the powers that be" about our official Jeep spot.

I have a cooks meeting at 9:00am that I have to go to, But Ray (Dangermouse) will help direct Jeepers, in my absence.

Yeah, I just got confirmation that my company's annual picnic is this Saturday. It's technically "voluntary" but not really.
