| Just wanted to thank y'all for the u-joint that got me back on the trail for the 2nd day of wheeling, and all the help putting it in. (And, by 'help', I mean, doing it while I mostly watched =)
Y'all were great and got me rolling again, I can't thank you enough!

| Phil had the spare axle for me. It took about 3 hours from the time I broke to back on the road, can't beat that.
Thanks Phil and Friends

| Out of curiosity, is there any kind of Jeep Nation discount or anything along those lines? I'm interested in a few items from his store, though his TJ offerings are extremely limited... | |

| Well that's certainly not true in all cases. He'll sell generic Bestop pieces for $70 that others sell for $16, but then on other items he's lower than normal retail, so it's kind of hit-and-miss. | |

$70 vs $16- I have to see that to believe it. Post up some links Anyway- he has price match on his website. But I have not needed to do that since he has had the best price on the things I've ordered.

| Well it looks like the price went up on the item I noticed from $16.99 to now $29.99 on JC Whitney while the same item on Trail Duty is $64.95. PS Just looked it up it's at $29.99 at Amazon.com, too... | |

| I shop around as well. If it is close I would buy it from Phil. If it were that far off I would email or call and ask about it just to make sure I wasn't missing something. Not sure what the story is with that header.
Phil is a class act and I have been nothing but happy with his customer service.

| Good grief. You'd think I'd maybe suggested Phil likes to rape woodland animals with children in a satanic ritual or something. I just pointed out that no, at least in the couple dozen things I looked at (again, TJ selection is minimal) he wasn't normally the cheapest and in some things I happen to have looked into lately he seems to be way overpriced.
I may end up sending nearly $500 his way at some point in the not too distant future, as he has better prices on Viking products than Thor does on his website. And maybe some Crown stainless brake lines, too, for the heckuvit. But I'm not going to believe he's got the best deals around.

| To get this back on topic, Phil exemplified what we all say we practice and that's helping fellow wheelers out. Dave and I ran down the parts from Phil and got them back out to Dern to fix his axle. There was no hesitation when we (does not know either of us) pulled up and asked if he had spares sitting around that Dern could use to get off the trail. He and his pardner jumped up and said YES and gave them over to us, no questions asked. I will advise my peeps to give Phil a shot at price matching moving forward. | |

Glad we could help Fortunately Rod (white TJ) had the right UJ, as I'd given away my spare on a previous trip, but I've now replenished my spares box As to TrailDuty prices, yes the web site is woefully behind, but we are working on fixing that. Just for the record, I don't stop to help people to sell them anything or advertise my business, I do it because they are fellow wheelers in need of assistance. It was a busy afternoon on Saturday, when I was tracked down for the axle shaft, we'd just finished helping someone re-seat a bead on a Bronco, and just before that had donated a JK serpentine belt to someone in need. Enjoyed the wheeling, enjoyed meeting everyone, had a great time.

Actually that's one thing I have heard consistently: you're actually there for people. I've only met you once (at Long's last October IIRC), but I've heard great things When you say the website is behind, does that mean your actual catalog of available TJ items is much larger than what's represented there?

Yes, we don't currently keep much stock of TJ items, but we have access to the same warehouse distribution system that the major web sites do. We are working on a major update, which will start making much more this inventory available, and at competitive prices.

Rod! Yes, that's his name - I always seem to forget it (then again, I forget pretty much every name until I've heard it 10-15 times...) I agree w/ Phil, I've been on several trips with him there, and I had to practically drag info out of him about stuff for sale. Not to mention him and Rod dragged me around for a whole day my first time @ Katemcy, putting up w/ my nearly stock ride without mentioning an upgrade once *grin* !c

Good call I spotted Mark through in his lime green beast on 60's, then a TJ running stock axles. The TJ didn't fair so well
