Canyons Ranch - 6.19.10

Well I survived my first real wheeling experience, where I had to "air down and disconnect", and all I can say is... IT WAS AWESOME.

I went over stuff that I would have never even thought of doing on my own. It's amazing what these rigs can do. I struggled a little bit since I'm rolling nearly stock and a newbee but still made it over almost every obstacle. I suffered some minor damage, scratches to wheels, tires, and a bend to my front passenger fender.

I want to say Thank You to Jeff(maroon 4door), Sasha(black 4door), Richard(yellow 4door), Bob and Renee(white JK) for all the help and advice. I learned a lot.

I can't wait for the next wheeling trip.

It was good wheeling with you. You did well on the trail. Don't sweat the scratched & dents, you'll get more.

So glad you had fun and we didn't scare you off, you did great, even nearly stock you crawled right through, look foward to next time. PS Marshall will sell you his JKS dissconnects for $90.00, they are about $150.00-$160.00 new.

( I don't count having to stop on the way home and remove the rubber boot that was flapping on the drive shaft)

BTW, my son figured out how to use a cell phone as a flashlight to help me.

Wow, Sascha and Joe both trashed their boots too, you guys must have hit the same rock.

Maybe we can get a volume discount on some new boots

Wonder if we all damaged it on the same obstacle?

Hmmm, now I gotta climb under there today and check my boot. I didnt get a chance to do the once over before I left or yesterday. I dropped off the jeep at firestone due to both front beads are hissing air.

Rudy, good wheeling with ya. I'm glad you didnt suffer too much damange. Corner armor and front tube fenders are cheap for the TJs ... so unfair I'd invest in those.

Thanks for lettin me and the girls take up the rear. The two young ones don't really like the rough stuff so cruzin with y'all was pretty kool. Can't wait to do it again.

It was great, homemade fried chicken, wish you could have been there, but glad yall had fun fishing.
