| for the 4th i am going to barnwell with jennifer and tina (stock 4dr jk), who some of you know, and another friends step-father who just completed a international scout that has been built, but i don't know how far. my delima is that i will be the most experianced wheeler there and although i feel a good idea of how to get over something being in the vehicle driving i don't so much spotting. can anyone give me any pointers. how different are the lines between the longer wheel base and the shorter? any help would be much appriciated and Jody don't tell me it will be ok its just plastic. | |

| OK.....it'll buff out! The trails at BMRA are labeled with the level of difficulty. I would stay away from the fives / fours and wheel the twos and threes until you get comfortable in your spotting abilities and the rest of your groups driving skills and willingness to listen to instruction. Doing the lighter trails will help you learn the nuances of spotting short and long wheel base vehicles. Each is going to vary by obstacle and the conditions of the trail, so you might want to scout ahead so you know what you're heading into. No worries. | |

| Barnwell is a great place to learn both driving spotting. Twylla and I will more than likely be there on Sat. and maybe Sun. I'm going to shreveport on Wed, so I'll be in the area anyhow. | |

Give me a muddy trail any day over the rocks and off camber bs most of u guys like. Ill take a harder cleanup and the occasional slashed tire vs all the driveline breakage in the rocks. Some people enjoy spending more than they paid for the jeep upgrading it to try and make it bulletproof. I enjoy a set of mud tires and a flat trail and a hard clean at the end of the day.

| NO... the first one wasn't body damage, that was character. If you have to point it out to someone before they see it, its character. if a total stranger says "damn man, wtf happened?" thats body damage! LMAO!!!!! | |

| Ben- you missed the point. Barnwell clay is slick as snot. Combine that with the fact that it is almost entirely hills (and lined with trees), and you WILL get body damage. There's just no way around it- that place will bite your ass. RG got body damage when it was dry.
Wet Clay + Hills + Trees = more chance of damage than playing on rocks
BTW- FWIW I still have not broken anything or had any body damage on rocks <knock on wood while throwing salt over my shoulder and calling a voodoo priest>

You mud geniuses do realize that shit gets into places you can't see and can't wash off with a hose don't you? Bearings, differentials, t-case etc... Ticking time bomb unless you change your fluids after running through that stuff regularly.

I don't do a lot of what ya'll do at Barnwell even if it is dry, no way I'm gonna do it in the wet. BTW, last time I got to play in some serious mud was that snowfall we had in East Texas earlier this year, split a tire, thankfully one that already had a slow leak, but it was so much fun, mud and snow FTW!
