Been dealing with death wobble on the jeep since Canyons a couple weeks ago. I just put on a Poly Performance track bar with upper and lower brackets and looks like I stopped the wobble. High steer kit will be here tomorrow to stop the bump steer and hopefully some of the wheel shimmy. Been wheelin hard on stock stuff for a long time. Gotta say it has held up well but it is all being replaced now.
Here is a video of the death wobble I had to worry about in my helicopter days. Luckily it only happened on the ground.

Good ol' ground resonance.
I got to do an auto-rotation for real in an OH-58.... landed hard and actually bent the skids when we landed in the nearest clearing. I thought the pilot was fawking with me... when I looked at him and saw the look on his face I knew he was not... haaahaaa.

RG,
were you in aviation? I was a flight engineer for 15 of my 22 on Chinooks.
Never auto rotated all the way to the ground but had some close ones over the years. Glad to be on the ground.

Is that helicopter made by Jeep, that would explain a lot.

Ya, AH-1s -the last Gen Cobra right before the AH-64s came out. Was a crew chief. We had the Scouts until the OH-58Ds came out and then replaced the observer with a backseat full of high-speed electronics. Spent a bit of "off the record time" over the skies of North Carolina.
Right before I got out I was deciding on what to change my MOS to, Shithooks and Blackhawks were high up on the list because you can carry more shit and always have a ride. I did get to jump out of a few hooks.... or fall out rather.. jumping might get you an extra close hair cut.

Cool,
I actually logged some time on AH-1's and OH-58's in Korea. I was a TI in AVIM unit. Had TI orders for and could crew any aircraft in the Army for a while.
Logged time in 58's 60's AH1's UH1's and 47s (b,c,d and MH47)
Spent a little time with 160th out of Savannah.

Very cool... the SOAR guys don't mess around!
There were a few times that I wanted to stick my TI's little ruler in his 4th point of contact - sideways and not so lovingly .
I can still tie wire 7 wraps per inch though....
I enjoyed floating over the trees....

Love that thing!!!
We had the 20mm hanging off the nose of ours. That is why I had to hang a set of 20mm cans off the back of the Jeep... nostalgia.

I've seen that video of the Chinook before....crazy stuff!! I've never flown in a helicopter but I work on Blackhawks and Chinooks everyday, well I work on the engines anyway, the GE T-700/701 and the T-55/714. I work for the Dept of Army at the Corpus Christi Army Depot
