| We have about 20 wild hogs starting to devastate our property in stockdale. looking for someone experienced to come out to hunt them. I need to get this controlled before spring..... the meat is excellent - I have more than I can eat before it goes bad in the freezer, so all the meat is yours. it's a small property, so I am definitely looking for -experienced- people, for safety reasons. | |

| for safety, I'd rather just one or two at a time. I'm happy to go down during the week too. if we get setup by 5ish, we should be in place before they start roaming. then after dark, head back to town. | |

| Bow hunting is one skill I never developed. I'd prolly love it, but I have a hard enough time funding my current hobbies. I bet either my .30-06 or 7mm mag will drop one of them piggies though. | |

| I might have to get in on this too. My .308 should do the trick. Only problem for me is time ... the two rug rats seem to require two parents to handle or then run us ragged when it's only 1 parent. ... or anyone going have too much extra Javalina meat, I'd gladly help take it off your hands. | |

Funny you should say that. I almost decapitated a doe once with my 7mm mag and a neck shot. Bullet fragmented when it hit the neck. Not pretty, but effective.

| My grandfather used to take my cousin & I to the produce terminal over off Zarzamora and Laredo. He'd pull up to a dumpster and have us pull out bad fruit with a pitch fork (sometimes we'd have to jump in ) until we filled up 3 buckets of bad fruit. Then head out to his land out in Cotula. Added some water to the buckets and let them sit in the sun all day. Late afternoon we'd dump that stink bait on the side of the road. Always had hogs eating after night fall. | |

| Feral hogs can be a HUGE problem. We have been shooting and trapping them on our ranch for over a year and are just now making a dent in them. We will be doing some shooting and trapping this weekend. We don't like to waste the meat, but we are in a war with them. We eat all that we can, freeze some, and give any away that we can. But some does go to waste. We have to control them, they push the deer away and eat quail and turkey eggs and youngens. Texas Boars is an excellent place to get info on hog hunting, but you have to watch what you say there big time. I got banned for sticking up for a new guy that got hammered. The site owner went on a huge rant, personal attacks with outright lies. So you really have to watch it. But there are some really good folks that hang out there and know their stuff. This is what one of our feed sites looked like last year: We don't see that many at once anymore, but they are still there. My favorite tactic is to stalk up on them under a full moon with one of our AR15's mounted with an Aimpoint. I get right on them and go to shooting. It is actually pretty fun. | |

| RichSA- yeah, that's what ours looks like. Just bigger hogs. And more.
jkx- you get to keep all you shoot! PM me, and I'll get you on the schedule.
It looks like we'll have quite a mixture of people coming down to have their way with these little F'ers. Rifle hunters, bow hunters, sport hunters, and a couple guys with ARs/AKs. And yes, its WAR. I, too, don't like to waste meat. I have always subscribed to what's killed gets eaten. But at some point, they must go. And sooner the better.....
