man I love to shoot hogs...if we see then while on patrol, the sheriff wants to grab the patrol AR and pump a few rounds in them the herd.

My Sheriff gives us full-auto SBR M4s....they make short work of most groups of hogs

yeah, unfortunately, we dont really have enough land to do that safely........

No pigs seen all weekend... But a big thanks to SwampRat, Dangermouse, his dad, my buddy Will, and most of all Sarah (our onsite chef)

Was a fun weekend, even though no hogs....

It's hard to get a shot on hogs in daylight. I have hog lights on one feeder, and do the full moon light hunting too. Just bought a 2 million candlepower spotlight with a red filter. It is legal to night hunt for hogs, the local game warden just wants a heads up call so he doesn't have to go check on possible poaching. You also cannot possess any regulated game during or immediately after the night hunt. But if you bait them with corn or a hog pipe, it's a breeze to get them at night. Some of the time they will even come back after a shot and start feeding again right next to the shot hog.

Did you try stink bait? like I said, overripe fruit sitting in a bucket with water for a day or two in the sun then dumped near a hog trail /wallow has always worked for us.

Chris, you three want to head out Fri after work for some bow hunting?

I'm thinking about making a trip down tomorrow with some stinky stuff for the traps. Y'all are welcome then too.

Ray, I'll be down the next two weekends (though I'll be working during the day and making a hell of a racket again). Don't think Sarah will be down - so I just don't eat much at all (if anything).

ARRRGH. Sad Sad Sad Sad The Third time I've been down there NOT to hunt, and they've run RIGHT across the road in front of me on the way out.... But the time I got the .40 out of the center console and rolled the window down, they were LONG gone.

2-3 BIG sows and like a DOZEN tasty little piglets.....

Who wants to come bow hunt this week after work? Anyone have feeders? We could put up several for different people.

Anyone willing to take me out? I am an experienced hunter just never hunted hogs. Ive got a 12 ga and a 30-30.

Ive been researching how to hunt down here now that i have time off but it seems like you just need to know somebody with land.

Really looking for the bow hunters, as it's a small property. 12g with slugs may do you though.

Now THAT was funny. I mean true. That's damned pigs. I wait for 'em here - they go over there. I wait for 'em there - the go over here. Every time... Every time....

Mom sez we should just name them & call them our pets.
