Hey, folks. After reading TOYZ_2's post about space, I called Clear Springs and spoke with their manager about the situation. He was most helpful. He said we just have to call that morning with a head count. I would think we could take a head count before hitting the road and I could call him as we leave. Additionally, he said we could call him when we are an hour from arrival and they would restrict seating enough to clear out current guests and accommodate our group. Sounds pretty easy.

As for the parking, he said that was no problem. They apparently own an empty field very close to the restaurant that we could all park in. Of course, that means we will have to go off road with our Jeeps. That might be a problem for some of us, and yes, you know who you are.Having said that, here is the latest rig tally

I hope we can be back in town in time for this, but right now it doesn't look good. Have to be in Oklahoma on Monday, Big Spring Texas on Wednesday to get some business done there, then back home. We will try. Sounds like a blast! Plus we have only met some of the CC folks. Would like to meet the locals here in town.

I called the manager at Clear Springs again today and confirmed the empty field we can use for parking on the Go Topless Day Run. I have attached an image for the convenience of all who are participating.

I'll probably just have the Freedom Panels off for the same reasons...my 17 month old still doesn't have a ton of hair and he won't wear a hat so his head would probably roast!

EDIT: Does someone have an SWR meter they could bring? I got a new CB (the Cobra 75 All-in-one kit from Cooltech) and want to tune it if possible. Only if it is a quick task, don't want to waste everyone's time.

The Plan:
May 14th meet at Whataburger at 1604 & Nachodoches at 10am (ready to go).

We will take:
Nachodoches (FM 2252) across 1604
Turn Left on FM482
Turn left on Krueger Canyon Rd
Left on Wald
Turn right on 1863, immediate left on Mission Valley Rd
Left on Hwy 46, immediate right on Hueco Springs Loop,
Left on River Rd head up to Canyon Lake.

We return on TX 306 to Greune

Eating lunch at Clear Springs in New Braunfels with parking in the field next to the restaurant if needed.


Whew, that's better. Now it's all in one place. I just hope I got it all.

I will try to make it. I am supposed to show up and turn in my truck and equipment at the office but I can blow that off to Sunday or maybe knock it out Friday evening.

If a beat up old white YJ rolls into Whatabuger Saturday morning, it means I'm going.

That's a really good question. Since this is my first time to participate I would love to know the answer to that as well. I know for me personally, that wherever we are at 2:00 pm, that is where it ends for me. I have another schedule commitment at 4:00 pm that will require me to leave at 2:00 pm.

I'd still like to know for planning purposes though.

Last year a small group was still going strong until late in the evening.
We might have to go grab a drink on river road again, after the lunch meet.

After lunch the plan is to head up to cayon lake, right? I figure we get there about 2:00 pm. I plan to head back about 5:30. But, could be sooner or later depending on how I'm feeling, how the kiddo is doing, and how my mom, niece, and nephew are feeling.

Only the "COOL" Jeepers stick around until late.
