| Guy's, Starting a new thread for the MOAB Trip. I just spoke with Renee, and she said some of the Jeepers that said that are going are dropping like flies. I just wanted to get a head count for the ones that are still committed and are 95% sure that they can make it. Renee has done a great job organizing this trip on request of some of our members. Still ready to go are: Bobby & Renee Sascha & Rocio Stacey (Passenger, not wheeling ) Anybody else? If not, there might only be 2 Jeeps going otherwise. Please post up for the ones that are still in!!! Thanks, Management. | |

| Only you guys? I saw more people on the email that were going for sure. Now I feel bad for dropping. I was supposed to get some money but I didn’t and I was going to use it for the trip. Let me check my budget again and I will get back to you guys. | |

If you can afford the trip and have the budget for it, we would like for you to make it. But do it because you want to. I have always wanted to go to Moab with a group of people I know, as it makes it more fun to share the experience. Warning: rant about to start: If it is just Renee's Jeep and mine, it might not be worth going. And I'm dissapointed as a group for some backing out that had committed on going on this trip. Renee put a lot of research and work into this, as she always does. Several members have asked her to set up a Moab trip for the club, and she does. We fail to come through on our part. She puts an incredidable amount of work to organize events on members request, and usually does this single handedly. I had always said I would go to Moab, unless someone in my family got seriously hurt, but understand things do come up. I lost my job early February, but had not considered backing out of this trip. I recently started a new job last week. So that eased the financial strain. This rant is not meant for all Jeep Nation members, but some of you know what I'm talking about. We haven't made a final decision yet, and will decide later this month what we plan to do. Rocio & I are still going on vacation somewhere. On another note. We need to help Renee out with a few things in this club. Anywhere from organizing trips, decals, ordering t-shirts, managing the Jeep Nation web site. Etc. She does it all, and she does an awesome job. I personally do not care for the decals, show and shine, topless day, etc. I joined this club to go wheel and be involved and learn at install parties, maybe grab a drink and a bite with some the members. The rest I couldn't care less about. But that is what takes more work then anything. Organizing a BBQ, show & Shine are big commitment responsibilities on the financial side. Randy has bought food and have no clue how he is reimbursed for it half the time. Rant over, if I have offended anyone See you guy's on the trail...

| Just kidding !!! I felt bad about dropping out. But could not be avoided. I'm sure everyone is in the same boat. I budgeted for the trip as our vacation, and $$ set aside for emergencies, etc. But we had to buy a new billing program ($17K) and new computers ... the list goes on & on I had no idea that many others backed out as well. I had a 6 month budget for some spyderlock beadlock (buy 4 et 1 free at the time), rear locker, and chromoly shafts all to get ready for the MOAB trip. All that went away Carmen is rushing to finish her dissertation in June and finish her edits buy the July deadline to get her PhD. Right now I'm do my best to take care of the kiddos and be mommy & daddy while she writes. I barely have time to scratch my a$$ right now. When it rains, it poors brutha. In the fall I hope to be able to slow down and enjoy spare time and $$ again | |

See you guy's on the trail... Counter-rant in 3-2-1... As much as I wanted to be part of it, I was never part of the Moab trip. It is most unfortunate if the whole trip doesn't pan out. I know Renee has busted her keester researching and planning and she probably feels like a mother who is taken for granted. Who can blame her. Since the original discussions for the trip at Hills and Dales back in September 2010, my summer plans have changed drastically. I knew then I wouldn't be able to do Moab, but now I wouldn't be able to do it for entirely different reasons. That's the way life happens sometimes. My brother who passed away from brain cancer in December 2009 had a really wise way of dealing with things that happen outside our control. He called them gravity issues. You see, gravity exists. We can't change it or stop it. Getting mad or upset over its existence isn't gonna change it, so we just have to accept it for what it is and work with it the best we can. People committed to Moab. Since then things have come up and they can't go now. It's very unfortunate, especially since Renee spent so much time on it. The best thing any/all of us can do is work from here and do what we can do. As for helping with the club and forum duties, I do think that Renee does a lot. Others should definitely pitch in and help as well. I took the wheel on the last show and shine at the Lions Club fair. I'm willing to do what I can to help, and I would imagine others would be willing too. What needs to be done? How can we help? Those are the burning questions here. As for the show and shines, and other community events, I think they are a great way to attract people to Jeep Nation and show off our rigs. I know at the Lions Club event we had several Lackland T.I.'s stop by and express an interest in the club and the forum. They said they had Jeeps and were looking for a club. Hope they pan out and join. Our jeeps and our club can serve a higher purpose that just getting silly while wheeling, breaking stuff and then fixing it. Sure that's a blast, but other events will allow us to serve our community and learn more about one another. Personally I enjoy it all from sitting at show & shines, install parties, dinners, and wheeling. That is one of the things I like the most about Jeep Nation. We are all allowed to participate in all events, but not obligated to participate in any event. I've heard of clubs that require a minimum amount of participation. That sounds too much like work to me. Between family, church, and work, I have enough commitments. The Jeep stuff I do because I want to. Just as it should be. In my opinion anyone who suggests a particular event should champion it. The result will be either no more events, or relief for Renee. Either way somebody is gonna be happy. Finally, is Randy paying for food and not being reimbursed? If so, that is just plain wrong, unless he asked not to be. Even then free will donations should be made available to relieve the burden. Nobody should be expected to foot the bill for a gathering unless they make it perfectly clear that is their wish from the beginning. OK, blood pressure is back to 120/80. I love this club and the people in it. I want to do what is needed to ensure it stays a good quality club with good events. If that means pitching in and sacrificing some of my personal time for the benefit of the club, then I'm all in. If I know the members of the club like I think I do, then there will be others who feel the same. Cheers!

| Thats what makes this club so different than many others. Because of both me and my wifes working overnight schedule, we are hard pressed to make many of the events planned. We do try to make some, and have planned to try to get some days off for the topless day. We havent been banned from the club because our attendance isnt the greatest. I do log on here everyday to check how things are going and to see if any thing comes up we can do. We are both off Tuesdays and Wednesdays and nothing is ever planned on these days for obvious reasons. So its hard to make a Saturday get together. I agree that the Show and Shines , Boyscouts, 4 wheel parts get togethers really do this club justice. The few that i have been to, i get alot of questions from people and am happy to answer their questions. That just helps grow interest in this club. | |

| Dude .... Thanks for bringing this to light. Everyone helps when I cook. I do it for the fun of it. Jeep Nation is not a burden, if anything it has helped me with some new pirates to hang with. Some of these events my boss picks up the tab on, and all he asks is that if you need a crane call us....the others...well me & the guys pitch in and JN members have always pitched in. I split this money with the guys who pitched in initially. Don't worry about this.
I can't go to moab this year .... It just ain't gonna happen... next year maybe...
Renee needs to be overwhelmed at mothers day with posies and 4wparts gift certificates. She has taken us all in (and I know she wouldn't have it any other way).
Hook-em nailed it ... if you post an event you own it!!!
