| hello jeepers
i recently just swapped gears from my stock 3.21s to 4.11s off a Rubi. When i was tearing my front axle apart, and going to swap carriers, i noticed that the carriers were the same. so i bolted my rubi 4.11s to my carrier and done. i needed no carrier (which i bought) for the carrier break 3.73 and up. my question is. what does that mean? I have a 2007 JK X. the gears are off a 2007 Rubi.
What im thinking is back then both were the same. Tow package back then kept your Dana 30 bt swapped it to 4.11 instead of 3.73 now. and since you could switch gears w the tow package to the 4.11s,, the 07 jk have a carrier that accept all ratios from 3.21 - 5.13? Help? i also have read it can be a dana 35 since it was assembled in 06. dana 35 is a dana 30 housing with larger internals?
Also well i have a few parts i want to get rid of
3.73 carrier and up (for anyone who is gonna swap gears) 50$ carrier only, no spider gears
teraflex sleeve and gusset kit for a d30 or d44 housing. 100$
if you want them, contact me. | |

| If your JK had the tow package it had 3.73 gears at least. Mine had the tow package, but NO tow hitch Though I've read a lot of posts of ppl having 3.21s and jumping to 4.88s & 5.13s with the stock carrier. it could have something to do with the fact that JK gears are THICK CUT gears that allow JEEP to use the same carrier for 3.21s - 5.13s. I'm no expert so this is just my $0.02. | |

| thank you. i def had 3.21 ring and gear both say 45 14. 45 teeth to ring gear, 14 teeth to pinion. 45/14 = 3.21. thats how the gear ratio is done. Im just surprised / confused. but big difference in gears. kinda wish i would gone with 4.88 or 4.56. i probably couldnt reach 70mph, bt oh well | |

| I was running 5.13's with a true 34" tire. It was a bit much but would cruise at 70 with rpms around 2700. I am now running true 36" and rpms are at 2400. | |

| yea i have 33s right now and want some 35s. thats why i wish i woulda gone with 4.56s. i dont wheel that much. 4.56 would been ideal, but i dont if they even make a good set. last i heard they was problems with them. | |

| As far as i could tell they used the same carrier. I just upgraded to a powertrax lockright inthe front of my 07 jk x when i shredded the spider gears in my rear diff. well long story short, i ended up using the spider out of the front diff in the rear. i measured them out and they were the same size as the rear internals. but i had 4:10's in mine. i thought i had 3:73's. | |
