| A few of us are putting together a trip to Coconino National Forest in Sedona Arizona. For those unfamiliar, Coconino is an emormous National Park that surounds Sedona and Flagstaff Arizona with numerous trails that are free to explore. Ray Ingram has been there and says its the most beautiful palce he has ever been and has a bunch of pictures of when he was there.
The tentitive schedule is as follows:
Arrive in Sedona on Sunday Aprill 29, 2012 Trail riding Monday April 30 thru Friday May 4 Head back Saturday May 5
As of now it appears the following are in:

I love to drive and inend to drive to Arizona leaving Saturday April 28, stopping in New Mexico for the night, and heading in on Sunday. And doing the reverse coming hoome.
Anyone interested in joining chime in. It will be a memorible trip and we will have lots of fun out in the forest.

| I am not going to say that I am in because at the end I never can make it. I am going to keep an eye on this thread because it would be a good birthday gift for myself. | |

| my wife and I went to sedona for our anniversary a couple of years ago. very beautiful for sure, not the most callenging trails though, afterall they take tour jeeps on them. there is a mexican restaurant that is well worth eating at, they don't take reservations, we got there 30 min after they opened and there was 90 min wait. luckly we got a seat at the bar and had some of the best mexican food i have had. | |

| It's true there are jeep tours in Sedona. The tours (Pink Jeep Tours) originate in the city limits of Sedona and travel a very short distance. The available trails run in excess of 50 miles (Sedona to Flagstaff and beyone) and everything is available.
I am in total agreement about the Mexican Restruant. It is exceptional. Also, I lived at the Moab Brewery at night, also exceptional.

| Sedona will be more than a wheeling trip. It is really a great family vacation spot. Something for everyone. Of course, there are more trails there than you can do in a week. Trails are any length you want. Some are up to 50 miles. Until I went to Sedona, I always considered the Grand Canyon as the most impressive natural site I had ever seen. The Grand Canyon is now in second place. I have attached photos of the area. Since this trip will require a lot of advance planning, I thought you might enjoy the scenery. https://s1203.photobucket.com/albums/bb392/Ray_Ingram/Sedonna Arizona/ | |

| I may be interested! I just moved here from AZ and have wheeled that area many times. It is a beautiful and fairly easy run. There are tons of trails just south of there also. I will check my schedule and see what I can do. Jeremy | |

| Shane -
We may want to reconsider the dates of this trip. Scheduling after school is out may result in more activity. Since this is a family type vacation, those with school age children may be able to be able to plan on this trip.

| Any date is fine with me. An advantage of retirement. Six months lead time should be sufficient for anyone. Planning this far in advance will permit anyone who wants to attend to plan accordingly. | |

| Would anyone have an issue if we postpone this for a couple of Months. Maybe August or September. Dont look like scheduling it around school would make much of a difference in attendance. Just gonna be kind of tight for me right now trying to get my sons jeep all fixed up, and he is not giving me any slack on it. | |

| No problem for me. I was there in mid October, 2010. Weather was perfect. T-shirt during the day and long sleeves or light jacket at night. Actually, I would prefer September. | |
