| A couple months ago I had picked up some saddle clamps from one of the JK-forum members, and just had not gotten around to buying lights for them. Saturday I ran to Auto Zone for something and saw some cheapo lights for $35. Decided "what the hell". They aren't wired up yet- too friggin hot to deal with that much, so I'll wait until Fall to do the wiring. Plus they did not come with a relay- WTF? They came with a wiring harness but no relay! So I'll need to get a relay and redo the wiring harness slightly to add the relay in. They are only 55w each (I'm assuming that is why they did not include a relay). So I'll just angle them to the sides when I use them on trails- figure that way I can turn off my headlights and still have good trail view without blinding whoever is in front of me. | |

btw i would drill also. HAHAHA- you saw that post over on the other forum huh. Well, I have plenty of time to think about it since I'm not going to wire these up until sometime in the Fall. - Rescue1 wrote:

IMHO they are worth the extra cost both cosmetically (I prefer the position of the lights when mounted on the Mopar brackets) and functionally (no hood glare, and no light hitting you in the face).

Yeah, in the future when my stock battery dies... But not because of the lights- those lights all have different purposes, so it is very rare that they are all on at the same time. But more for the sake of the winch.

| n2rock, if ya like - I have an extra 4-pole relay laying around (the difference between 5-pole and it, is that there isn't a 'normally closed' pin). I think I even have a harness for it, to make wiring easier.

!c I'm no relay expert... But I would need a "normally open" relay for this use anyway, right? And if you have the harness, that would be even better Like I said, the lights came with a harness, but no relay- I could easily cut the harness and input the relay. But hell if you have something handy to avoid that extra step, that would be cool.

N2rock hearing this, flipped a switch.... and there was light. like the sun in the dead of night Just making sure that if I ever get lost out on the trail, all I'll need to do is flip on a couple switches and any satellite in space will be able to locate me

Correct, the only purpose of the NC pin would be to have some other lights on when these are off. Anyhoo - even if I don't have a harness, I can solder all the wires in, in less than 5 minutes for you and make it all perty. Would the Padre run be the next chance I get to see you? If so, I'll bring it then. Of course, if it already has a harness (I'm referring to the plastic piece that the wires connect to the relay with), and it is square with 4 input slots, then you just need the relay and yr done. I'll just bring what I have, and we'll get you wired up in about 10 minutes. !c

!c Works for me... I have no problem soldering & running wires, I just need to know which pin goes where. And then I need to find someplace to mount another relay - I don't think I have enough room to mount one next to the other 2 relays.
