Toys for Tots drive

I have been in contact with GySgt Llanes.

He will be getting his boxes on Oct 15th. I need to get the info to him as soon as possible so he can reserve them for us.

Please PM me with details of box locations. We will need the name and address of the business and point of contact. Let me know if you need a letter to give to business owner.

I will be the point of contact for emptying the boxes periodically but figured since they are at your work you could probably do it. We can then find a central collection point. I offered my house but the divorce is heating up a bit and may not be a good idea.

Will they put boxes in place? I believe so but will get clarification.

Can we turn in the donations as we go or wait until the end

Here is some info I got fro GySgt Llanes. We will empty boxes weekly and turn in. If there are any cash donations he will accept them personally. His info is attached in case. I owe some letters and have been slacking but will get them to you soon. We have 2 box locations so far. I am sending the info to reserve them.

Any more please get me the info as soon as possible.

Donations are turned in as we go, preferably weekly I have to keep an
updated weekly count for my higher ups. Also if you can assist that usually
the business picks them up and turns them in. I will put you down as POC for
any business that you turn into to me. If any monetary donations are wanting
to be given just give them my POC info so I can arrange to meet them in
person, depends on how large that is we have to do paperwork.

I think some of the members needed the letter to verify we were ligit and truely working with Toys for Tots.

I actually do a personal letter referencing the requester. I can do a generic one as well that will cover everyone. If anyone needs one let me know what you need (send a pm with info and an email address) and I will get it to you.

Just got word from GySgt Llanes. He has not received the boxes and we can request more.

I don't get much from GySgt Llanes these days. Haven't heard about the boxes.

He hasn't given me any info about what else we can do to help. Kinda feels like we are on our own.

Have you had better luck in Houston?

Still waiting on info for one box so I can order it.

I have sent a couple of emails to both the Sgt.'s in charge of the Houston area requesting boxes as well and have not received a response.
I figured I would give them untill Monday then I am going to get some large boxes from U-haul and make some posters.
We have 4 locations agreeing to allow us to place the collection boxes so far.

I feel like you do, that we are on our own so maybe next community service idea should be something like a food drive or doing something with the Shriners Hospital...just some suggestions.

Something we have more control over may be better. At least that way we know it will get done.

If it is this difficult now, how bad will it be when the drive is active and they are busy?

I spoke to the Sgt. here in houston and they have been out on manuvers and said to call them on tues. or wed. for update on the boxes. He said they were to have been shipped out to them and they are gonna track them to see where they are at.
