| Subject: Spare tire wheel a "real" wheel? Fri 02 Jan 2009, 1:50 pm | |
| So, I finally got some 31s on my 04 TJ, and now the donut spare is starting to look really silly. I have the very basic TJ steel wheels, like This one. My question - is the wheel that currently holds the spare a "real" wheel, or is it a spare only wheel? It looks a heck of a lot like the rest of the wheels, but I'm not sure. I'd like to stick a real tire on it and get it in the mix. Thanks! -Hal | |

| Yes, it is a real wheel. Some people rotated the spare tire into the regular set to get longer life out of the tires. You where always switching a regular to a spare tire for maximum tire life as compared to the tiny donught spare tire on most cars. The problem you may have now is that you have 4 31's and one regular tire. Alot of the jeeps you see will have 5 31's on them. If you try to use the regular tire it may lean with the 31's.Having 5 31's will allow you tire rotation. hope this helps. | |
