Does anyone have any experience with Road Armor? Opinions on the bumpers below would be appreciated. I know most of you are stubby fans, but I am a full width fan. Not too too crazy about the grill guard, but I am looking for something that does have sometype of grille guard.

A local guy sells these, mostly for big trucks and they look like they are well made, they look really sharp on his F250 and a jacked up Silverado that sits out front of his shop. Have not seen one on a Jeep though.

That first one looks pretty mean.....

Edit... splain' THawk... I remember something but can't put my finger on it.

I will stop in and talk to the dude who sells them locally and see what he has to say.

LMAO...do yourself a favor...don't buy UNLESS ITS SOMETHING YOU REALLY LIKE AND SOME VENDOR HAS IT IN STOCK AND YOU CAN VIEW PRIOR TO PURCHASE.

I could give out a big ass list of crap about that group (Mark Hanson, Mark Nobles and company)...hmmm

Again those that run Road Armor ARE THE SAME as Overkill and those that run that are the same group that run Atomic

This was the picture I was waiting for. They built a weld fixture for this unit, and as you can tell Jeff I think this looks a lot better than the first set we sent you. This has been a hard project and product we have released. I should know today on the final weldup and if there was any deflection in the process.

I'm sorry, I didn't state my last email correctly.
The following are the two emails that I'm referring to when I questioned:
* email sent on 01/19/10 that stated:
"They fit, and there are building up the hard clamp fixture to start
mainstream production. I will get an update as to when the first ones will
be coming off the line."
* email from Mark sent on 12/16/09 that stated:
" Can you forward to Joe Robinson, the JK guy. If these fit okay off
the robot he will be getting this set.. they are suppose to test fit
on Friday "
So the question of what is "they" was meant for the email sent on 01/19.
Because if "they" is referring to the front fenders from the email sent on
12/16, I guess I'm now not getting the orginal fenders as stated. So, I was
hoping that the "they" might be referring to the rear corners...I don't
know.
The only thing I do know is that I'm getting very frustrated and want a
shipment date or my money back.

Wow, that's exactly what I was after, I knew you guys would not be shy. Riddle me this batmen, what about purchasing from someone off Ebay (I know ya'll really love that ideal) who has them 40% off or "make me an offer". Do you think those bumpers are the ones that did not even make it through QC at RA. Man, I hear all of you, but I really like that first bumper with the grille guard. I don't understand how this ebayer can sell these for this cheap, unless they are crap. But like always, I pay with a credit card, and if I'm not happy or don't receive, etc., I dispute the charges and be done with it. Hasn't failed me yet.

I know if it sounds too good....................................uuuuuggghhh, so confused. Thanks for all your input.
It's like I have this gut feeling.............don't do it....................but I oh so like that grille guard bumper. On their site it is $2,800 (proud of that now aren't they), and I would/could never pay that kind of green for a front bumper. He's asking 1,400 or so, or make me an offer on ebay.

Maybe I should just call the Ebayer and inquire and get it all on recording, as to in stock, condition, etc., he indicates he has 5 of them. Now don't all of you run out and buy all these out from under me! JUST KIDDING!
I do hear and appreciate everyone's input on this, almost every part of me is saying don't do it, but the "I want it part" is being such a bitch at the moment, I'm escared!

It's still early, so I have not read all of the links provided, so I'm sure I'll feel more strongly against this ideal after reading all the info, just thought maybe going through an independent person as opposed to OK, or RA or Atomic, whomever they want to be known as, might be a way to go. Why so many names, so you can't track anyone down in the event of problem?

This is what I am thinking Ebay + RA bumper = asking for trouble
This is what I am feeling "I want it" but, I'm not much of a gambler.

Oh what to do, what to do. Damn it, I hate this feeling! Thanks for all your input and please feel free to add more if you got it. I guess I am really trying to talk myself out of it, but did I mention how much I like that bumper!

Thanks all, have a great day.

I was a full width bumper guy too.... just because I really didn't know any better - I have had big ass bumpers on all of my vehicles (trucks) because deer vs stock bumpers sucks.... same reason as most every one else so it was only natural to get one on the Jeep. I went with the Expedition One (great folks and customer service BTW) full width and I love it.... until I got rid of the stock fenders. Now my front bumper doesn't look right IMO so I am going to have Geo chop it down to a stubby. Could have saved some bucks and went with a stubby from GO. I was dead set on a full width and back then I am pretty sure I would not be talked out of it.... live and learn.

I have worked with Expedition One folks and they are great. I would also recommend Phil at Trail duty as a vendor. He can order from manufacturers and usually get a better price. No experience with Road Armor but it doesn't sound good.

We may have a winner here! I really like these bumpers and I know we have some welders, tube benders, etc., here in SA Opinions on Road Armor? Icon_twisted. I have given alot of thought on this, I'll be keeping full flares, with no intent to chop, or go flat, even though the look is growing on me. ( Opinions on Road Armor? Confused maybe I should rethink). I really like the look of the full flares, with a big ass mean looking bumper/grille guard.

Mr. RG, sure you don't want to sell that bumper and get you a stubby? Sure will be sad to see that thing chopped up, but I know it'll look killer once George is done with it. Just thought I'd ask.
