| The tally from the last Krocks run...
My goal was to pull the back bumper off so I could get a head start when the new one comes in and I just about succeeded.... only a bolt or two holding it on. Funny actually, it is angled up.
I seem to have a leak on the rear diff... not cracked or anything obvious but it is seeping out. Sucks because I am not quite ready to get the OX for the back.... N2 - do you have your old one? I suppose I could just get a new gasket(?) and bolt it back up.... any suggestions?
There are too many dents and scratches on the bottom to count. Everything got a new dent or gouge except for the evap skid....
The entire passenger side slider was gouged (not scratched) and there was a 9" gouge on the driver slider - those things just keep paying for themselves!!! Rattle canned them back to black a few minutes ago.
Some more rock rash on every rim.... also fixed with the rattle can.
Front bumper had about three spots where it scraped the rocks while going up or down.... fixed with the rattle can...
Screwed up the 3rd brake light plug when I took the tire off the rear gate - just need to reconnect the wires into the plug. If I had not taken the tire off the back I really think it would have gotten caught on a rock on the way down some of the drop offs that we went over... the receiver hitch was hammered to chit. (rattle canned..... after grinding it smooth)
I placed the lynch pins back into their holes on the sway bar quick disconnects and when I went to reconnect the sway bars the pins that were in the sway bar were gone on both sides. I guess that the tire rubbed them enough until they fell out ????? weird.... I rigged it with pins that I had in my tool kit then stopped by Lowe's in Austin and picked up four more just in case I lose one later on.
The wired thing is that when I got home (~350 miles) the BAS/ESP light came on and the anti sway indicator (car w/squiggly lines) did as well. Both have been on since. I looked it up and now understand what they do.... is there a way to reset the light? If it comes back on I can take it in..... or do I have take it in for that?

| It's probably that your steering wheel is off center. Just adjust it and the lights will go away. | |

1. More than likely you only bent the cover slightly. Pull cover off. Beat it straight. Use a gasket maker. Reinstall. Good to go until you install heavy covers. 2. Like Sascha mentioned for the lights. Straighten/align the steering. You can do it yourself for free. Let us know if we need to explain the proceedure and we can.

| Thanks!! I sent you a PM
The steering wheel is off about 4 degrees to the right so that has got to be it.

| mine did the same thing. probably from either a bent front track bar or it got off center when trying to turn when the tires were unable to turn.
the coolest feeling is when your spotter tells you that the crash is going to be your front bumper hitting the rock, but just drive through it! that was awesome!! that is what the steel bumpers are for!

| Nope- don't have my old cover. Sold it to Sasha at the last K-rocks run
4 degrees off center doesn't sound like enough to make the esp freak. But yeah, try to center it first.
If you remember though- Tony had issues after the last run, and it turn out to be a bent rear control arm. So you need to really inspect everything front and rear. And you can disconnect the system by disconnecting on of the wheel speed sensors- ask Geo where the sensor connector is.

FWIW- I bought a carabiner that I clipped to my tool bag. When I disconnect, I put the pins on the carabiner so they don't get lost. Also- the upper swaybar pin has a plastic spacer/bushing on it- I always remove those and put them on the carabiner too, just to be safe.

Also- the upper swaybar pin has a plastic spacer/bushing on it- I always remove those and put them on the carabiner too, just to be safe. That is a good idea, I have a pocket that I stash the links in and I used to put the pins there. someone gave me the advice that I should put them back in the holes, which I did..... I think that I had the bar stowed too high. I remember my tire rubbing on something but couldn't figure out where. Thinking back I believe that they were rubbing the end of the sway bar. It is already shiny so there was no way to tell if you were not looking at it when the tire was flexed into the wheel well and I remember that you had an issue (I think it was you anyway) with your tire hitting the sway bar. I will make sure that it is horizontal next time. I have not had a problem when I stowed it there. I have plenty of caribiners around here so I think I am going to go that route. I will try and get the steering plumbed back up tonight and then the diff tomorrow. Thanks for the tips.

You are correct, there were more than a few times that I tried to turn a wheel that was stuck on a rock... It is cool knowing that you are going to "use" your bumper or sliders etc.... my front bumper has a pretty good approach angle for a full width bumper and it has never come into play until last weekend. We went over and down some amazing stuff in those three days. Its all good as new now... the first thing that I am going to do with the new rear bumper is paint it flat black.... so I can touch it up easily. Eventually everything that should get bumped will be easy to touch up.

| You can also spray it with the duplicolor bedliner spray. a light sanding around the damaged area and spray. you are good to go and it blands very well. it also looks more rugged, i guess. - Mr.RonGilbert wrote:

I learned something that I am sure some of you were aware of..... just in case there are some that dont - here is what happens when you screw up the 3rd brake light wiring. My passenger side tail light quit working, I figured that I had jarred it enough to break the filament so I put in a new bulb, it worked when I checked it at the auto parts store and I remember holding up the old bulb and it looking OK. The next morning on the way to work I noticed the blinker blinking fast and when I checked the taillight it was out again. I checked the reverse light and it worked so I swapped the bulbs (both are 3157) and no workie.... I checked the wiring thinking it got pinched or something and it all looked OK. Turns out that when I stowed the 3rd brake light wiring (waiting to fix it when the new rear bumper showed up) and when I did two of the wires touched, causing the fuse to blow on the R/R taillight socket when I put a new fuse in it blew right away. That was while we were at BVORR. When I got home I separated and taped the three wires for the 3rd brake light and then the running light worked on the R/R taillight but still no blinker.... I wired the 3rd brake light back up and now the blinker works fine. I guess that was Jeeps way of letting you know when your 3rd brake light is messed up... just a little frustrating if you didnt know... checking the bulbs in the tail light and them being OK kinda threw me off a little.. now I understand.
