| I was only planning on bringing a super small 2 man tent for my son and I, and a little umbrella to stick in the sand. I have been debating getting one of those bigger sun shelters like RG posted. I will make a detour by Academy after work to see what they have. I needed to look from some anchors for the sand anyway. I will also be bringing all the mesquite I have. It isn't much. I don't know if we can even have campfire/bonfire on the beach. I just checked the weather and this weekend is looking like we will be lucky. http://www.weather.com/weather/tenday/USTX0844?from=36hr_topnav_undeclared | |

Sounds like we have 2 shelters... Anyone else have one? I think we had 3 last year didn't we?
Suggest that you bring something to keep the tents tied down - either longer tent stakes, one gallon buckets that you can put sand in or weights of some sort... I remember that being a PITA every time I go to the beach. I picked up a few of these canopy anchors last night at Northern, only $5 each: http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_6970_200336264_200336264

GAS, GRASS, or ASS, nobody grills for free I'll pick up a couple propane bottles today. I have a couple in the garage too, but I don't know how much gas is in them. Now we need some folks to volunteer their shelters. Those are going to be in high demand on the beach.
