recall for tow package

I got a recall notice for the 2007-2008 tow hitch. Anyone else get this?

Yup, I got one too. I think it mentions a "tow bar" you may have purchased for your JK.

I got one in the mail as well. Has anyone actually gone to the dealership to get this done?

I haven't purchased any tow bar. I do have the factory tow package/hitch. I haven't gone to the dealership yet. I was also curious about if anyone went.

Not yet...I also got one and it's sitting here next to my keyboard so I don't forget about it! I think what they're gonna do is replace the cross member between the frame rails. I guess I'll eventually get around to bringin it over...would suck to have something you're pulling break off!

same here. too busy (or lazy) to go down there and them have my jeep for a day or two.

I think it said something about only taking an hour to fix. If they are keeping it for long I would expect a loaner car.

yeah like my free oil changes .... dropped off at 8am before work & picked up around 3pm when they'd call that it was done !!!

Maybe you are the only one who actually read the letter. recall for tow package Icon_cheers

I called up my dealership and they said it is for the Mopar front tow bar only. The sold 300+ aftermarket tow bars but don't know who they sold them to so everyone got the letter. So if you are 1 of the 300 people that bought a front tow bar and don't want to see your jeep disconnect and fly off a cliff you sould call them up.

I had mine done. I didn't have any optional towing equipment, so I wasn't sure if I needed it. Dealer said yes, and performed it. Don't have a clue what they did, wow that's kinda scary recall for tow package Fresse
