that is not the way to port a. that is to the public beach before you get to PINS. If we meet up there we will have to backtrack back thru town to get to the bridge to take us over towards port A. it is a good 45 minutes....just saying... we could meet on the island instead...

Dang, just saw this,,,my b-day is in May too, the 23rd, but alas, K2 is the next weekend and I can't afford to do both,,,,maybe i'll catch the next beach trip in June....

It’s actually quicker from the gas station to Port Aransas if you are coming form SA

I did a yahoo map time comparison and it takes longer going from downtown Corpus through the Harbor bridge to Port Aransas (1hr, 20min). Than downtown Corpus, gas station, Port Aransas (45min).

Yep, if you're coming from SA, this is the easiest way to get to Port A. Just take a left at that conv. store and head north on 361 and it takes you straight to Port A, I think its 18 miles from that store to Port A. IMHO,there is another way to get to Port A that is a little quicker. If your coming down 37, Just south of Mathis, take the exit for 188 and go through Sinton, Taft, Gregory and Aransas Pass. This way takes you to the ferry. Just a little something to think about...

So whats the latest update? When and Where? I have a shutdown planned for that Sat, but if nobodys getting here till 10 am, I may be done by then, and good to go...

I'm trying to work my calendar right now so far looks like i'll be able to make this run. I have family on town but i can also camp at big shell if anyone else is going to be out there camping.

Ok...so no new updates on this lately...are you folks from SA gonna meet some of the Corpus folks at that store at 361 and SPID(Park Road 22) about 10am then head up to Port A from there??? If thats the case then I will just meet up with you in Port A somewhere. Also how many from from SA are coming down, just to get an idea of how many will be in our group on the beach??

We will see you guys at the station about 10am, I know several of us want to go to the "bowl"?? I heard its close to Bob Hall Pier, not sure when everyone will want to go home it usually turns out to be everyone leaving at different times, I think some want to spend the night. We will set up a base camp somewhere then everyone go do what they want.

Well it's unlikely I'll make this one, between having to sort out a huge mess with the hunting lease (including removing our blinds and such) and probably not having my rig back till K2.

I think it would be easier to go ahead and find the "bowl" first thing since it is fairly close to the rendezvous point?? Kenny's the one that knows exactly where it is so I guess it may be kinda up to him?? What do you think Kenny???
