Our free for all will be at Trinity United Methodist Church, which is located at 6800 Wurzbach. It's about midpoint between Babcock and Evers, and on the eastbound side of Wurzbach. The event starts at 4:00 pm and will run until 7:00 pm.
I'm really looking forward to seeing y'all there.

We are within two weeks of our event and trying to nail down the details of the event. Layout planners have asked for the number of Jeeps that will be participating in the event. Thus far I have 5 confirmed with possibly up to 11. I have told layout planners to plan for 18, but hope I'm embarrassingly low. Our committee reconvenes this Thursday and I would like to have some more refined numbers by then. So, if you plan on participating, and have not yet posted, please post up so I can update my records. Also, if you have previously committed and can no longer participate, please let me know as well.

The planning committee met yesterday. Our event is starting to come together. Thus far at 8 committed Jeeps, we have more Jeeps committed that classic/muscle cars. We have a master plat for the event. It is a work in progress, but what is really great about it is that the Jeeps will be the closest to Wurzbach Road. That means that we get to be front and center for attracting drivers-by in. Yah, baby! Gotta love it! I have attached a snapshot from the PDF file.



You'll see that there are 12 Jeeps shown. I really think that the Jeeps and cars are too large in the image and the area where the Jeeps are expected to be will hold more like 19 to 20 vehicles. The divided roadway to the north and west of the Jeeps is Wurzbach Road. A lot of traffic passes through that area so we will definitely be seen.

We are planning a walk-about in the area next Friday and Saturday. No times have been set yet, but I will post up to this thread with the information once I have it. If anybody wants to join in for the sake of planning post up. I welcome your input.

I am very excited about showing of Jeeps at this event. They are such great vehicles and the rigs from all of you are sure to be crowd pleasers. Thanks again to all of you who have decided to participate. I really appreciate it and hope to be able to repay you all very soon.

Hey David,

Just a FYI, if we stack our jeeps tires on tires you might want to tape off around them just for safety. I know we will be there by our jeeps and can direct people around but we don't want a little guy walking under and the rig falling or something.

The setup for the event is going to start in the morning on the 16th. I will be getting to the event by 1:30 pm. The chairperson has asked that I oversee the setup of all Jeeps and cars.

Anybody who feels like they need extra time setting up can come at 1:30. Otherwise plan to come at 3:00.

I also thought it might be fun to have a flex demo, but I do not have a flex ramp. If someone has one we can use I would really appreciate it.

Finally, if anybody has any queations, please post up or PM me. Thanks again to everybody involved. I'm looking forward to seeing you all there!

Flex ramp? Simply use the jeeps and stack them.

I made a couple calls but have not found one we can use yet, I'll call a couple more places.

I know we were already planning on stacking the Jeeps. That's probably going to be eye catching enough. Don't go to any extreme lengths to find anything. I was just thinking if somebody had one at their disposal, then it might be fun.

Well, blessings are abounding for the free for all. Since yesterdays update we have a group of PT Cruisers joining in on the fun. We have a possible contengient of classic Chevy's coming in as a result of our add on K-Love. What all this means to us Jeepers is that we might have to park our vehicles off-road, in the grass. I hope y'all are all OK with the possibility of taking your rigs off-road !

Oh, yeah. I forgot to mention that I will be dressed in burnt-orange Longhorns gear. I hope that doesn't chase any of you other-than-burnt-orange types away .

MAJOR NEWS ON THE EVENT, FOLKS. If you have kids and are planning to bring them, or if you are kids at heart (and I know you all are. Hellooooo, Jeepers!), then you'll want to come see what I just confirmed for the event.

The SAPD Blue Eagle Helicopter Patrol will be visiting the event. At 4:30 they will circle the event twice then land on the ball field. Once the aircraft is secured they will be making it available for show and tell.

It's sure to be a HUGE hit with the kiddo's. I'll admit it right here and now. I'm gonna be right there too. Of course, it's my gig, so I have to be anyway, but that doesn't matter one little bit.

Hey, I saw that video and Stacy's rig was plainly off-road, allbeit on level ground. If we go into the grass, it will have to be on a hill. The two together might be too much for her . Me personally, I don't know. I'm just basing it on the threads on this outstanding forum.
