Maybe I missed it, but why not leave in the factory rear glass. Simpler and would keep the defrost, wiper, etc....

Couldnt use the window cuz the corners were broken and had to be spread out.... for it to fit on the body.... im now considering looking into a custom window similar to the stock window so i can open it all the way up... or maybe building a window out of Plexiglas, not sure if thats a good idea though.... will see!!

Heres what ive done and changed recently! I went with HDPE black texture plastic 1/2" thick for the lower bulkhead! Pretty sweet stuff, cuts well looks linex'd and unbreakable ! Also I ditched the window I bought and went with Acrylic plastic, pre-tinted and inexpensive! reason for ditching the window is I felt that it didnt jive with JK..... i like the window but my measurements were off and wasnt the size of my liking. Also Im planning on retaining the pop up window which can be useful for hauling long objects or shade in the back for the BIG LAB!! Any ways enough with the talk heres some pictures! Hoping to start the role cage Mid month when I get payed next:confused:..... As always input/ suggestions are appreciated! Also I havent made the window seals yet seeing I cut the stock molds out, but I got it figured out! (need to get to work before it rains:o)

Heres a concept coming what u think... im also gonna build a new rear rail set that fits up next to the top and goes further back to the rear of the jeep! Also ill have the skin with circles on there as well ! keeping a theme going )I guess).....

Heres the new rail design , Ill be adding a plate with holes cut out to match the sliders. Whatcha think so far?






Also got the front bumper finished up as well



Hopefully more updates concerning the roll cage sooner than later!

Looks good. wonder how those rails would look if they followed the line of the rail caps around the corners instead of bending down before the corner?

I think I got what your thinking but the problem is the bed makes that turn and goes out further..... So for the rails to go all the way the rails would need to be at a angle. Ive been thinking the bend at the rear is a little off due to the sharpness of the drop in the rear, but when i look at the nose of the jeep the bend seems to be pretty much on..... (im not sure if im on the same page of what your speaking of....) Thanks for the input !!!

P.S. - My boys really like your dog "Big". We were a few Jeeps behind you most of the time and my 3 year old kept asking where "Big" was...he must have asked 100 times, good thing I could easily tune him out with the wind noise!!

Metal is purchased! DOM 1.75 , .120 wall, ! Built the brackets for the front part of the cage last week . DERN (danny) loaned me a real bender ! Work starts tomorrow!

everything is tacked up. still have lots of work but Ive made progress! I know its not the craziest cage out there but im happy with my first cage build.... gonna add the hole thing look in between the two parallel bars.

also gonna add handles , tube behind front seats for harness, more triangulation.

thinking bout another set of rails to go on if i were to run bikini top for long period of time, but seeing its my daily driver probably wont sport topples all that much!

what is the diameter of that die? if you did a 180* bend (a U bend), what is the distance between the two sides? when you're done with your cage, I would love to get together with you on a possible cage build if you're not too busy.

Your kissing up to the wrong guy the bender is mine. You can use it if you would like, let me know when. I have several people that want to use it.

Ii got some other projects I gotta get outta the way, but i definitely want to be on that list somewhere. I'm not in a hurry. I gotta get my garage cleaned out.

I still have a harbor freight 20 ton press, swag OR press brake, 50 amp plasma, and some other goodies I've had for about 9 months that are still in boxes cuz my garage is packed with stuff.


... got a free stock bumper with a ding on the passenger side if anyone wants it. just come get it before I cut it up and trash it. The metal part is fine. just the plastic corner has a ding.
