Google says a little over 9. But that's not in a 40 foot bus that doesn't go much faster than 55. So 12 would be great but I'm gonna break it down into two days.

| It is NOT a 12 hour drive. I left Universal City @ 7am, made the mistake of running 35 south to 90, stopped in Del Rio and made it to Panther Junction @ 3:15pm. Had I not piddled around in Del Rio, I would have arrived before 3pm. It is a long drive, but very enjoyable.
I'm leaving early Thursday morning. Looking forward to seeing everyone there.

| We will be staying in the same spot, Rio Grande Village, Ray knows where we stay. Not much phone service in the park, so we can meet up there or schedule a time to meet at panther junction. Can figure it out closer to the trip. | |

| I don't see why not. I've seen triple axel 25'. But they are the pintle hitch type. And never for rent.
You'd have to have a 2 1/2" receiver and a serious daully to pull it with.

| Here's the deal, to tow both vehicles would save me about $320 in gas. If I rent a trailer I would have to rent it for 2 weeks. A trailer like that I'm sure would be more than $320 for two weeks. So I would have to either borrow one or rent it for far less than $320 to make it worth it. If not ill tow mine and my son can drive is. I considered droping the axles on the truck and towing both but I looked it up and a passenger vehicle can only have one vehicle in tow in Texas. | |

You might check into that this law more. I see alot of triple passenger rigs heading to Mexico. Just using tow bars and car dollies. I do not know Texas DOT laws very well but I do know Fed DOT and its legal. Tams-TJ's Hubby

| I'm fairly up to date on the laws. My job kind of requires it. Federal law allows commercial motor vehicles to have two in tow. Texas law limits it to 60 feet to include the power unit. Texas law only allows a passenger vehicle with an unloaded weight of 2500 pounds or more to have one unit in tow excluding the towing device. Texas Transportation Code 621.205.
I know the vehicles your speaking of and they are all in violation, some of which are under 2500 pounds empty weight and prohibited from towing any units at all under the same statute as above.

| Shane -
Why doesn't the law (State or local) pull these illegal convoys over and cite them, check for insurance and possible impound the vehicles?

| Probably cause they are too lazy to mess with them as it is a pain to deal with violators from out of country. However if I cant do it neither can they. So I might just have to start introducing myself to these folks as they roll south through Selma on 35. | |

| The following is a list of confirmed and scheduled arrival dates. I intend on putting together a schedule of trails for the week starting on the 1st thru the 8th. Its apparent the majority of attendants will be arriving sometime on Thursday. I know a trail of great interest this time is the river road trail so I intend on running that on Saturday from east to west. I believe Friday would be a good day to do old ore road. If anyone has any suggestions or request let me know.

| Where are we camping at? I'm bringing a trailer with all my stuff. It's not an off road trailer, not yet. It might be by then but I'm not holding my breath. So I don't want to drag a trailer over major trails. | |

| I am parking my bus at the rio grande village rv park. Its a really nice area and I'm fairly sure they have camp sites for tent camping. It would be really cool if ya'll could camp there near us, and there is actually a bit to do and see on that side of the park, even by foot. They have a fairly decent store for supplys there and gas. If not, all the trails have camp spots along the way and most are accssable in a Honda Accord so you wont need an "Off Road" trailer to get there. There is camping in the Basin, however it is about 5000 feet up and there could be as much as a 20 degree difference between there and the river level at night, and it may get quite cold in the basin at this time. I can pick a couple of spots on the trails close us if you dont want to Camp at Rio Grande Village. Ray and Ken stay in a motel out side the park on the west side in Terlingua.
The phone number for reservations is 877-386-4383 where i am staying. Maybe you can give them a call and make sure there is tent camping in the park near us. I will also have working facilities if needed that ya'll can use.
I can explain better if you want to geve me a call.
