questions on towing a jeep?

some friends and i are planning on renting a winabego and going to big bend park this for some camping. of course i would like to take the jeep. does anyone know o a bolt on towbar that doesn't require cutting of the bumper? has anyone been to big bend? hows the camping and wheeling? is it even worth taking the jeep that far? (can't believe i just asked that)

my parents went last year they said the Jeep trails are just simple trails nothing off camber no climbs etc, just flat dirt roads through some pretty country side...not what you would really call wheelin...but I have not been there to see the trails just what I hear from my parents...I will put it this way they did all the trails in my mom's Chrysler Pacifica

Yes! It is very worth it to take the jeep. Black gap pass needs at least some clearance, and you'll feel a lot better about Old Ore Rd. w/ one.

For towing? I'd rent one the two-wheel car haulers from U-haul, it doesn't cost much and is a lot easier than dealing w/ a towbar.

Here is the worst spot on black gap. It doesn't require 4wd but you do need something with clearance. The camping is all primative in the back country.

I second renting something.... unless you plan on towing the jeep all the time. There is a place in Houston that does custom stuff for the gray hairs. He uses the Blue OX tow bars that only leave two little round sleeves where the tow bar pins in. He will make a mount that the sleeves will fit into that is welded or bolted to the frame. It total cost is about 1600....

I hadn't thought about the wheel dolly. I think that's the way I'll go. Thanks for the input.
