| What do you think if we plan on the last week in July for our trip?
It will take at least 12-16 hours to get there, we could leave Friday evening after work July 22nd and start our return on Friday the 29th.
This is the off season so I think that would be great, not a lot of crowds, I know some say it will be hot but its hot here and they do not have the humidity we have, so should be a piece of cake.

| We were out in Moab in late July of 2009. Great little town. Canyonland is close along with Arches National Park. There is a multitude of trails for rigs of all types. We drive a stock Rubi. We however did not hit EXTREME areas but there are plenty of those as well. There are so many trails that I would even suggest a longer stay than 2-4 days. Somewhere in this forum I posted up some photos of our trip but I will see if I can find them again. The heat...well it is hot but not more so than Texas and less humid. Bring lots of water..... | |

| all 3 pics are the Moab Rim. the first one is coming down the Devils Crack and the last two are on the Z turn. for everyone lookiing this is a 4 or 4plus (on a 5 scale rating) trail if I remember correctly. I did it in an LJ with 2" lift, 1.25" bl and 33s locked both ends. for someone on 33s and open it is doable, and especially doable if they have a winch and someone to anchor off of in front of them. The Z turn is he major obstacle on this trail. | |

You've got time to grow that Jeep of yours and lift it a little higher and put some bigger tires on before July 2011. If not, we can drag you all over Moab, whatever works.

| Got room for a houston member (whos been failry quiet for a while now...lol) I would want to stay as long as possible. I'm up for camping, but sharing a condo will do too. I'm up for driving nonstop. Suggestions: everyone bring every spare part available (long way from home) is there a welder going...if not need to make friends with one up there now...lol trails need to be picked out, long before leaving maybe have a day of different groups, for those (such as myself) looking for the big challenges I would be willing to bring my trailer (stripped down, no tent and all) to use a parts/supplies/water hauler...BUT I don't want to lug it around at all times (could limit my fun) just in case, my email atexaspi@gmail.com | |

just in case, my email atexaspi@gmail.com Agree with Joe. We will be bringing all the spare parts that we can. I am planning to probably flat tow my Jeep behind my truck. Gives me a more comfortable ride to Moab. I too can make the run in one trip, non-stop if need be. We'll discuss the need to split up the group for wheeling once we know who and what types of modified Jeeps are going. Do want to play on the more serious stuff too. We'll probably do Disney, OK another time, as you had started a thread for that. Don't know enough about the park.

| I plan on reserving three condos for now. It looks like we may need that many, I know all of our kids are going so we need one for all of us. I think we should decide if we are leaving on Friday after work or Saturday morning. Its 12 hours to drive. I don't have any updates on trailers or carriers yet, still working on that, but Sascha had a great idea to flat tow or dolly up there, I think most of us have trucks or a vehicle that can pull a jeep. | |
