| i met a guy on a flight that lived in colorado who goes to moab once a year in his tj with 2" lift, 33s and no lockers. we didn't get into which trails he did and didn't ride but him and his crew go and he said that it was some place everyone should go atleast once. moral of the story is that you have to be built to go. | |

I would probably agree with the fact for a JK to have at least a 2.5" BB/lift and 33" tires to do the Moab trip. I think the best is a 3" lift with 35", and you'll be able to follow any of us anywhere we plan to go. I believe the rental Jeeps are equipt with 2.5" BB and 35" tires.

| Remember guys this is going to be a great vacation, we (Bobby, myself and my kidos) plan on wheeling a couple days but also rafting, horseback riding and some hiking in the park, there is tons to do up there, we don't have to JUST wheel. Hope you chnage your mine Matt.
I was thinking this weekend we need to firm up the date. We have a couple options:
Leave Friday evening after work on July 22nd Leave Saturday morning July 23rd It will take at least 12 hours to drive, more with stops. We could spend the night in Albuquerque or drive through switching drivers (this will be a little tough) Stay up ther Sunday night through Friday then head home
Let me know what you guys think

I think you meant "... moral of the story is that you don't have to be built to go." a 2" BB and 33s on a Tj is about equal to a stock 2 door JK. I was actually thinking once dates are set in stone and solid commitments made, we would all get together and argue (oops, "discuss") our plans for each day. Wheeling days and other rec days. I was thinking, depending on what days we decide on wheeling, I may meet you guys there or cut out a day or two early and stop by Vegas

| A little FYI, ya need to check on Utah laws I remember on that "other" forum, the jeep easter run everybody was talking about having to run mud flaps on mud tires and tires wider than the fenders. The cops love jeepers up there especially out of towners!!!! | |

I believe that if the state where your vehicle is registered to does not require mud flaps, you don't need them in Utah. But I might be wrong, so we best check that out. Either way, I'm not putting mud flaps on my Jeep. I'd rather pay the fine.

| Man.... I can see it already...... Some Redneck Utah is already lickin' his lips anticipating an interaction with a Texas boy..... Especially one that sounds like one of them-there foreigners..... If you have a reciever we could make a temporary mud flap hanger that slides in the hitch. That would take care of the rear.... just an idea | |

| When I was there last summer, most if not all the rental jeeps were stock.
You can ride with a guide in their rock crawler for a crazy amount of money if you want though.
Be prepared for expensive groceries. The store is small and has a monopoly.
If you are there, you have to hike in Arches Nat'l Park. You'll be upset that you drove all that way and missed one of the most incredible landscapes you've ever seen.

| Dear All,
We had to change the date for Moab, please let me know what dates are NOT good for you, it will be June or August more than likely, we will have a meeting this weekend to make final arrangements.
I need some info on those that are going:
How many in your group adults & kids? Do you want to share a condo or stay somewhere else? Do you want to caravan with the group or meet us up there?
Out of Towners that cannot come to the meeting, please call me if you would like to have some input on this trip.

| Renee,
August would work better for me, as Rocio cannot take time off from work until July. (she started a new job earlier this month) Should be four in my crew and I don't mind splitting a condo to save some $$$.
Will be convoying with the group.
