July Coast Trip

I thought since it is getting closer we could get a game plan together, nothing is in cement so we can always change things if you guys want.

We are leaving Friday evening after work or if we can get out a little early...so those that would like to we can caravan down.

Friday evening travel to the coast, dinner TBD (suggestions)or on your own

Saturday Morning lets meet at the 4Wheel Drive Sign at 10am, we can set up a camp somewhere then everyone can go do what they want, some want to wheel, others want to fish and some want to get some sun. If everyone brings some food we can have lunch at the campsite around 2pm

Saturday evening we can do dinner at Fins in Port A maybe about 8pm?(Any other suggestions)

Sunday I bet Skoalman is up for breakfast we will be too, then whatever we want to do

I`ll pass...you can have my shark steaks :crazy2:

wash 'em, gut 'em, cook 'em. hopefully in that order. less filling, tastes great

well on the plus side, if it is rotting there, the fishing should be great. shld be a lot of SHARKs for the catching. yummy :drool2:

except they`d be dining on rotting whale meat :crazy2:

Sorry Cody. I found rooms at the Hampton inn with 2 queen beds for $129. If you have AAA there`s about a $20 discount. I booked a room there because it`s only 1/2 mile from the Best Western. For those of us still looking for a hotel cause we held off till the last minuet.
I looked on the internet at the Comfort Suites, 15209 Windward Dr.
a King suite with a sofa sleeper is runing $159.99 per night. With a few rooms left.
The PassPort Inn has 2 queen beds and a kitchen for $114.00 a night and standard room with 2 queens for 99.00 a night.
We are still going on 7/11 thru 7/13 right?

The wife & I talked about it last night and decided to go ahead and do the hotel thing. Sorry, just didn`t have a chance to pm you yet.

What the???? I thought we had a deal..... looks like Tina and I will be getting a hotel too.... but serious when did you decide this?

I`ve been camping my whole life, and I gotta say I`m with you Steve. Pretty much every time I`ve camped, it`s stormed really bad or we broke down/flated or we got in a major argument. Something negative always happens, and thats about the only thing you can count on being consistent regarding camping. But we alweays try to make the best of it. The last time the wife and I camped, it was only overnight. I was a real nice time-no probs, except the campers next to us had a HUGE fight and ruined it for the entire area. We got to listen to that for hours. Sheesh

HAH... I've camped a dozen or so times. And every time we got hit with a massive storm overnight- man it sucks drying everything out at home! The only time it didn't storm, it looked like a scene from Arachnaphobia the next morning- thousands of spiders had come down out of the tree overnight and were all over everything. Like I said- Mother Nature does not like me sleeping outside

Thanks skoalman, I may book one of those, but I also wanna be close to the action .

Also, if anyone is cancelling out at the last minute, please let me snag your room! I`ll of course reimburse you.

Oh yeah, we can convoy...that would be great.........

You will not believe this tho.......PINS just had a Sperm whale wash up on the beach...dont know what mile marker, but I have seen the pics......I sure hope they get that thing outta there before we head down....I think that thing might stink just a little bit after a month in this heat......Sheesh.....
