2nd Annual 4th of July PINS trip

Lets do it again, 4th of July PINS trip. We kind of discussed it at the CC meet and great and agreed on July 6 - 8. Below is a link of pictures I took of last years trip. We all had such a blast we wanted to extend it one more day this year. I figured I would post this a little early to allow folks enough time to plan and take time off.

Tentitive plans are to meet at the visitors center Friday morning and head out around 0800. We will camp at the end Friday and Saturday night. Sunday we will probably head back late morning or early afternoon.

Several of us that went last year will be going again this year. We will post up a list of necessary items and fine tune the trip between now and then.

I feel like an outcast, the meetings never fall on a free weekend, and as much as i love the beach july. 4 th has been a family reunion type thing for me n mine. Raul, please send me a txt or call me so we can discuss convoying to canyons (if im invited) again sorry for the prolonged absence

i would love to go again but i dont know how erika will feel cause she will be about 6 or 7 months pregnant we will find out for sure before to long how far along she is

6-7 month pregs.... good luck with that heat & getting her to go. I know Carmen was not up for it when she was that far along

Yea I don't think she will be ether but it's my b-day weekend so maybe I can go alone but don't think that will happen

Well there will be a 3rd annual and the 4th falls on a Thursday next year. so we can stay even longer.

Tides this year have not been favorable, they are really high for some reason. High tide on the 6th is +1.4 ft at 0724 hours, but that really wont make a difference because low tide is only 4 inches lower, +1.0 ft at 1328 hours. Batjeep09 and I went about 30 miles down a few weeks ago and the conditions were pretty poor compared to last year. May be a bit tougher this year. We are making a trip down there in June and the tides will be just as poor then.

We went down PINS a ways last weekend. The conditions were really bad. Lots of debris and very rough ride. And yes, the tides are really staying up a lot.

How far did you get.

We only went about 10 miles due to the rough ride. We were in the F350 with a very stiff suspension. Next time we attempt it, we will trailer the Wrangler down to the coast. Much better ride.

It's getting time to start making some solid plans. I will be putting together some information gathered from past trips, my personal experiance, and suggestions from others who have more experiance than me, as well as an itinerary which will be very similar to last year and be posting it soon. As I said a while back, conditions seem to be holding at best, a poor pattern this year. I will be headed down with a group in a couple of weeks and I will see if this pattern is holding true. So far the following are in on the trip.
