Good deal KENNEDY13TX. I got the message to and it sounds good to us. I would like to atleast 2 radios one up front and one in the back. This will help if a person that does not have a radio needs help the rear can notify the lead. But if we all have radios anyone can take the lead. We will be at HEB!

Is it Friday morning yet. I can't take this waiting any longer. Perhaps i should start packing.

Packed and ready to go. Just need to check / fill the fluids tonight and we are pulling out of here tomorrow after work. We will wake up to another sunrise over the water on the 4th of July.

I believe this is the final list of who is going. The folks in the red I have not heard from in quite a while so I don’t believe they will be going.

I am packed and ready to go. We (batjeep09 and I) plan of heading down there tomorrow evening as PINS is just a small part of our larger vacation. Please come visit us on the beach of the 4th and/or 5th as we will be hanging out doing nothing enjoying our vacation.

Just to tidy up a lot of different post, the early group in green will meet at Malaquite Visitors Center in time to leave out at 0800 hours. It appears the majority of the folks in this group are experienced in the sand and specifically PINS so there wont be much to do but head out. We should reach the end between 12 and 1. I will attempt a phone call to those in the later group if I can get a signal from the jetties. The later group will meet at Malaquite Visitor Center later in the day at a time they have coordinated. Tams-Tj will lead that group to the end and should reach us by sunset.

Here is the list again several of us have put together. The items and quantities are just a suggestion. Just remember the further out we get the more primitive it is. I’d rather have too much supplies then not enough.

The Must List

Fuel (10 gallons Minimum, I will be bringing 15 per vehicle)
Water (10 gallons for vehicle, again minimum in my opinion, bring as mush as you can )
Shovel (I also take a garden rake, seaweed is thick this year, rake a clean spot)
Fire extinguisher
Plenty of tools
Tire plugs
Portable Air compressor
Good first aid kit
Bedding
Tents
Lights
Pop Up(ez up)
food/snacks
Ice Chest
Drinks(water/Gatorade)(I don’t consume alcohol, but preferable as much or more water than beer)
Recovery Gear (Tow Strap/Chain and anything else you use for recovery)
Flashlight(s)
Trash Bags
Sun Screen

The Extra List

CB Radio (I plan of running on channel 4)
GPS
Dog Food (for those who are bringing their four legged friends)
Fishing gear
Binoculars
Hygiene products
Extra Clothes

I was unable to install a CB radio before the trip. When I do it, I want to do it right the first time and not a cheap way and then have to spend money to do it again so I just didn't do it yet. I will do it soon!

Buuutttt I was able to buy a shovel for the trip....

I have a CB too, so we're good to go with three. We expect to depart the HEB (Waldron Ave) around 1415. See you at MP60.

awesome, ya'll have fun. would expect to see ya'll there no later than 2030 however i'll adjust that as needed once we get to the end and experience the conditions.

But we just need to keep the one with out a radio somewhere in the middle so if she needs to pull off or has trouble the rest know. See you guys at HEB in the Bluff when you get here!!!!!!!!

Glynda and I are a very firm probably, but the guy covering my call is a little flaky. I would say we are 90%, and may actually drive up on Sat am, cause she gets out at 5p on fri, and dark driving with no beta sucks out there Hope to see y'all soon!

Hey, I was curious if the hand help Cobra S Walky Talkies work? I was contemplating just buying one of those for the time being but didn't want to waste the money if it wasnt going to work with the other CB radios in my group.

Yea. it works. I've here them.

Cool ill pick up the little hand help ones in a little bit so I can also hear all the chatter and whats going on with the rest of the group!

Just remember to drink a few for me. Maybe next time I'll make the trip.

A handheld works just fine for what we are doing. You get a 1/2 mile range. And that is all you need for trails.

Ok awesome! I just purchased a Handheld cobra so I will also have a radio!! It looks like we will all be able to stay in touch throughout the entire trip!!! I am soo f'n excited!!!
