| Same for me, I had an absolute blast. I'm glad the xj was able to drive home. The trails were a lot tougher than before. I'm ready to go back again. Marshall and I ran all of midnight run and that was great, would have been good pics if we took more. I know Naomi took a few. Next time I want to hit up bodyshop with a spotter. For all the first timers, hope y'all can make it out again (me included). I've always had a great time with the jeep nation group and everyone is always more than willing to help with anything that happens on the trail to get you home. Let's go back soon!!! | |

| My wife and I had a great time out there. After the incident at Throttle Up hill we followed another jeeper until he came to a ledge I just couldn't do. To be honest throttle up scared the crap outta me. Seems I like downhill more than uphill. My daughter took a good spill on throttle up when she was goofing around. Scraped her head, arm and thigh. We wanted to meet up at the top of throttle up so we made a go around .38 special but I think my 4lo wasn't working right...that or its just the newb factor but there was a longer rock strewn hill that my jeep couldn't do. Got the "HOT OIL" chime and said that was it. We went to the lake after this and my daughter got to ride for the first time on a jet ski from some friendly folks.
It was great meeting some of you and we will be out again!! We also took a few pics and will post them up soon!

| My skid plates did some skidding. I got a little sun. I got to use 4Lo for the first time (when I actually needed it). Figured out my e-lockers and which way to push the buttons to get front, rear locked in and how turn them off. Figured out how big a rock I can crawl over and how big a rock I cannot crawl over. Witnessed the awesome driving of Renee up and out of a gully and Richard crawling under jeeps placing rocks for added lift and traction. Saw an XJ almost lose a wheel. Thank goodness they stopped before that thing came completely out. I took a ton of pictures as well, need to find a way to get them posted.

Yeah, I forgot about the cost difference. They cost way more. You should be fine with the alloy USA one. I haven't read any bad reviews. I just like the peace of mind of the c-clip eliminator. Alloy USA axles are 4140 vs Superior 4340, where 4340 has better toughness due to the nickel content but both alloys have very similar properties. They might even have the same strength depending on the heat treatment each company uses. Superior doesn't state what type of heat treatment they use or at least I cant find it.

Ya these are stock axles. Just ordered a new set of Alloy USA axles. So Deacon, you'll be getting your axle back for a spare, or I'll buy it if you don't want it. Just let me know. Again THANKS!
What about a ford 8.8 swap? 31 spline alxes and from '97 & up they had disc brakes too, or this one even better : http://sanantonio.craigslist.org/pts/1997470579.htmlwas just a thought...
