| My tire came in so we're good on taking the Jeep.................but then again taking our 80 series LandCruiser with doors and A/C sounded pretty good with this heat! | |

| Here is an updated list. Rich sent me this photo. It has the suggested areas to set camp. I really like the location of camp 1 but vegetation may have changed so we will have to wait and see. He mentioned that there are two marked entries to get to the area but entry number 1 sometimes gets choked off by water. He also gave me this advice: "...closely watch fuel and tides regardless of the tide charts. We have turned back short several times due to using too much fuel. Try to drive on the damp sand with the tide out to save fuel and make good time. I also drive in 2 wheel drive the most that I can to also save fuel. I use my handheld GPS with the odometer set to keep track of how far I am. The signs on the beach seem to disappear and reappear from time to time." Cant wait!! | |

| I am looking at the radar right now and bands of heavy storms are coming onshore around the pass and just north of it from the tropical storm. Things may get interesting this weekend. There may be deep cuts in the beach. This will slow travel and may wash out areas of the beach entirely. It sounds like a challenge to me and I so wish we were going! | |

| Just called. It looks like this will actually work on our favor. According to the record: It will flattened the beach, clean the seaweed, and bring out some shells ….weekend should be great.
Can’t wait! I will start packing tonight!

You can use your grill. Bring it with you we might need it. I don’t have one. I only have a stove but it’s a bit hard to cook with it with all the wind.

| Hey, I am in Victoria, TX - Relatively new to Jeeping, got my 06 TJ Rubicon in January and went to Jeep Jamboree in LLANO with my wife. We have been talking about going down this weekend to mansfield, we would not be camping out, but I was wondering if it would be alright if we joined for the trip down the beach... I would like to know there are some people around to help if we have trouble.
Thanks, Billy Clay Myers (361) 894-4292

I was yellow last year, try blue or any other color next year; it is a lot more fun and challenging - VTXRubicon wrote:

We will gather in the parking lot and get a table for the right ammount of people when we all arrive. Give us a heads up if you think you can make it and hope to see ya there.
Directions
About a mile past the causeway bridge on the right. If you get to the light, you just past it. Call if you get lost.
