2nd Annual 4th of July PINS trip

Yea, hopefully there is not another one.

Sorry to get in late on this, I'm in just aquestion of whether I can get the whole day off, right I'll be with the 0800 group, but may need to shift to the 1500 group depnding on mission. Can't wait, haven't been to PINS since 1967.

Tams-Tj, TxRubiGrl, and KENNEDY13TX will be meeting up later in the day at Malaquite Beach vistor center, making the run together, and joining us Friday evening. Big Joe is in for the 0800 group but may need to change to the 1500 group.

Well it looks like ACE is not gonna come through in time with my spare tire carrier so I will be making the run with no spare.....o well, ain't gunna stop me!!

Its all good i will have some slime and a small air pump. Since your top is going to be off you could just strap it to the sound bar. I might be in the same boat, i have some 35 GY MTRs hanging on the gate now and getting replaced with Nitto Trail 35's and i herd they weigh more.

if you have a spare but no room to haul it, i will probably have some room.

We might skip this just because of some peeps comments on the FB page. And those comment and that pic has been deleted.

what comment and what does Facebook have to do with this trip.

So UPS came today.

Who wants to have some fun helping installing a lift this Saturday (June 30) in corpus.

I would but I'm working all weekend and still gotta finish packing for the trip.

Well I posted a pic of a stock jeep bring enough stuff for a week minus grandma on top... and someone said it was towed down there. So mama went off. She owns the jeep I just drive it and do all the work. So she is pissed off right now. So if I know her and myself. No need for that type of disrespect.

I really hope y'all still come!! I don't feel comfortable driving down there alone!!

As of now I still need to pick up some Jimmy cans and a tent but other than that i'm 100% ready!!!

Just an update. myself and batjeep09 should be arriving early on the 4th. Plans are to camp at my favorite spot just south of the 103 at or just past the tree (depending on how far down I can get my bus). we will be hanging out there having a grand ole time so please come join us as id like to meet all you. I plan to be at Malaquite Visitors center getting ready around 0600 on the 6th. We will roll out around 0800. I plan on making no less the 20 mile mile stops for at least 30 minutes each. (More stops as necessary). A second group of at least 3 rigs will meet at the same place and meet us at the end around sunset.

There is little wheeling to do at the end. there is a trail that goes around to the bay side. its a fun little trail. We drove it last year but had to head back due to time. I might suggest each being their favorite beach game for entertainment. I will be bringing horse shoes. as far as food, I usually bring easy stuff, sandwich stuff hotdogs, penut butter and jelly is a really easy meal.

I'm not a fisherman, but they say the fishing is great there. you can go out on the jetties, fish in the ship chanel, and go to the bay as well as surf fish. I've noticed the marine life comes much closer the further down you go.

on another note, the wild life may also come much closer to camp. I've seen coyotes running through camps with people in them. If you are a Texas Concealed Handgun license holder, you can legally carry on PINS. Just don't shoot beer cans.

Haha I liked the end of that.. I always bring mine for protection. Shooting beer cans is way more fun then fishing though

Still planning on meeting up at Malaquite beach vistor center, but my hubby and I will only go down as far as my BABY Jeep will allow. Txrubigrl and Kennedy13tx can continue down to meet up with the rest of the crew.

There are rattle snakes in the dunes. but they keep to themselves up there. Just take your gun with you when you go pee.
